Skippy is very friendly and gave us recommendations and a tour as soon as we got there. We really enjoyed that it wasn’t in the center of the tourist area but was a short walk away. The outside area is great and we really enjoyed chilling out there. The rooms itself was good and had very comfortable beds. I would 100% stay here again if I were to come back. This was one of my favorite hostels of my entire trip. The bathroom situation was a bit unfortunate with only one bathroom for the amount of people in the house. It was a small thing, just some people took a really long time in there and we needed to use the restroom quickly.

It was a great stay! The owner was nice, they were ready to help us in case we get lost and they gave us great recommendations around the city. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and toilets are clean. We especially liked the terrace, it was a cold night but there were plenty of blankets so we could play chess outside, enjoying the sound of the river. Would choose this place again 100% All was great, nothing to complain about!

Cons: While HS is a reasonable walk from the city center, you need to climb either a very long set of steps or climb up a bit of a hill to reach the place. It is also somewhat hard to find--at lesat if you are me and are directionally-challenged. The bathroom: You need to sit or kneel in the bathtub in order to take a shower. Also, I was given only one very small towel. Finally, my room had a large step at its door that you need to navigate to get into or out of the room. My first night, I woke in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. My room and the hallway were dark and I forgot about the big step, so I fell and scratched up my arm and knee. It was a scary experience. The next night, I tried to leave a light on in my room to avoid this problem, but the lamps did not work.

5 minutes walk to center, avoid the noise. Owner will host you with additional value advice and caring.

the hotel is a bit out of town center, but not too far away. has a nice river view. Very friendly and helpful host. definitely try the restaurant Skippy recommends. best Czech food i've had. the room i got was spacious and well equipped. only inconvenience was that the bathroom was shared and hard to locate the light switch in the dark in the middle of the night.

Absolutely beautiful location, amazing views. Host was incredibly kind, made sure you had everything you could need. Could not have asked for a better place to relax and recharge

It is what it is! If you’re used to modern day comforts (ensuites, separate shower, wide halls, level floors, sound baffling) you might find this a bit challenging. However, we loved the experience of staying at Skippy’s hostel

Very nice atmosphere of the room above the river, and the host was nice.

The House and its location was perfect

Quaint house and local staff were lovely, cozy, welcoming, and gave helpful tourist information. More like a specialty B&B, less like a hostel. :-) Facilities are limited: only bathtub, no shower; kettle & fridge available, no microwave or element for cooking; internet worked most of the time. Location on narrow cobblestone street is cute, but hard to pull luggage up here over large uneven stones.

I liked it so much that I’m already thinking when I can come back! We were a family of 3 and stayed in the very cosy 4 single bed room.

This hostel was an absolute dream! A gorgeous little wooden cabin by the river with a lovely verandah overlooking the water. Rooms were spacious, host was incredibly lovely and helpful and everything was clean. It was amazing value!! Only thing is a shower curtain might be good in the bathroom to prevent water from spilling on the floor! Otherwise it was perfect!!
