Suburban Studios Charleston - Civic Center

I enjoyed it all, the stay was good, no negatives.

We did have a clean & comfortable room as well as a quiet evening to sleep. However, the numerous homeless people across the street made for an uncomfortable walk to eateries as well as concern for our vehicle in parking lot. Don’t expect to use the pool… looks like a war zone.

Not a fancy place or location, but the interior was updated, the breakfast was full, and the staff very friendly. Walkable to the baseball stadium.

Only the potato were good , the bed was made nice The area I was scared to go in by myself, none of the ice machines worked on the floors , not pot pans or anything to try to cook with should’ve made it clear if I had to bring my owe or something , the tv says it offers YouTube but doesn’t allow me to click it without being connected to WiFi which it no WiFi settings in the tv to do so , the tub was dirty ! Had to go get my own cleaning supplies and try to clean the tub out the phone didn’t work to try to call down to lobby it just gave very much treacherous literally locked myself in the room and put Al whole bunch of stuff in-front of door to feel more safe while I slept

Property was good and very clean.. Need a bigger parking lot

Glad we were only there one night. Bathroom shower was not clean at all. Couldn’t make a coffee in the room because coffee maker was dirty. Surrounding area outside was not well maintained nor aesthetically pleasing.

nothing. maybe if I'm just being kind, I'll say the bathroom was spacious, but not clean. Water did get very hot so that was nice. Breakfast was a joke, the juice machine didn't work, the only drink option was room temp milk and coffee. I attempted to get a drink from the vending machine; it was sold out entirely. Staff found it funny, stating they told management, but this was "not their fault, they just work there". Said staff sitting at the front desk eating Tudors I believe with large fountain drinks. So clearly, they knew not to eat the food there and that there were no drink options. The hotel was sold out for a local concert. You would think knowing they offered the free continental breakfast and were sold out they would have prepared some option for drinks. What food was there, was not warm enough. The lady staffing the eating area actually yelled at a guest in front of me because he used the same tongs in a dish that had both sausage and scrambled eggs in it, claiming cross contamination, but gain, none of this food was really even warm enough to be "safe" imo anyway. There were not enough utensils for the breakfast time frame. We had waffles, in hopes that the batter having not been out long, was safe to make and not make us sick. Just for the record, this was the weekend of Aug. 4, 2026, we were there for a Billy Strings show.

Nice room. Room was clean. The property was littered with trash. Security is non-existent. Door opens automatically to one elevator that provides access to all floors. Location is good for civic center. Staff was fantastic! Guy at check in was quick, polite and efficient. He had a long line & handled it with grace and ease. I'd hire him for my front line.

It was clean and a great deal! Staff was amazing and the room was awesome! Parking lot car was safe. Only downfall was pop machine was sold out and offline for purchases .

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOUR TRAFFICKING PACKS (Look up with that means)!!!! Daytime is ok, night however is a different story. Tons of homeless people and drug attics sleeping and wondering across from the hotel. At one point we went to get food and a homeless man was in the elevator of the hotel with no pants and his penis out. How did he even get in? The building entrance is like a prison door where the front desk person has to buzz you in to release the lock. Ceiling in room had yellow stains and the window curtain looked like someone relived themselves on it STAND CLEAR OF THIS LOCATION! Tons of homeless people and drug attics sleeping and wondering across from the hote

--hallway smelled weird all the time -- housekeeping just got done with the room but floors filthy (beds got dirty after we walked on the floor --beds were comfortable, pillows fine. --AC worked --friendly staff

Staff was amazing

Wonderful location, wonderful staff, and terrific breakfast.

Clean. Pretty Spartan. It got the job done and they actually had a decent breakfast. Would stop again if I ever pass through this area in the future.

Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower was hot. Beds were unexpected doubles, not queen size. A little seedy around the edges - dingy hallways, windows were crusty and moldy(?) At the corners.
