It was so smelly. I checked in around 2 pm just to drop my luggage. Had to wait 20 mins at reception for check in. Place was smelling like gutter. Staff explained it is due to disinfectant. I came back from client meeting at 430 pm and the place was still smelling shit. I asked them to check out. Never used any facility in the hotel. They did not care to refund any amount even though I had to leave the facility due to shitty smell. All reviews you see from foreigners - they are lured for Yoga sessions and they find a cheap place to stay here. IBIS would be better than this at half a cost.

Location is very central. The house is kept with a lot of love and its evident in the cleaniliness. I was a little apprehensive as i am a solo female traveller. But i didn't feel unsafe at all.

The property has a heritage charm and is in a quiet leafy location - The service was very inattentive. One staff member was particularly rude. The rest of them would somehow try to help, but are not well trained. - The breakfast is terrible: no fresh fruit, just a few basic dishes which are not tasty. - The room was dusty and with mosquitoes inside of it - While the property is surrounded by greenery, views from rooms are essentially on the walls

Breakfast was very average. But when we wanted them to prepare the lunch the previous day, it was cooked very well. Maintenance and house keeping can be improved.

The furniture, the garden, flexibility of kindness of reception staff. (Special thanks to Mani :) ) Oh and the great breakfast (please forget the toast here, try the local one), loved the idli - the sambar was of great quality and loved the freshly pressed mango juice, too. Actually it was a perfect fit for me

This place is simply amazing.It is our go to place when staying in Chennai,located in such a awesome residential layout in a posh and neat locality amidst bungalows.It is an awesome hotel with beautiful decor,the rooms are clean,comfortable and the ambience is so satisfactory.Has a nice little garden,a coffee place and a spiritual aura about the whole place.The food served for breakfast is good.Special mention to the staff at the reception who have always been very courteous and helpful to reach out for all help required.Mr Kapil and Mani's service is really appreciable.We look forward to staying here again and again.Thank you very much! More bath essentials in the rest room etc can be considered.

great/homely setting, great location (personally) and helpful staff This is my second time staying at Niketana boat club in the last 3 months. My room price the second time was significantly higher than the first time. Both times, the reservation process was identical....I am a frequent traveller to Chennai and would look forward to receiving your response....

The location is central and beautiful, and the rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast was quite average, and even with very few guests dining, refilling was delayed.
