Royal Peninsula Hotel Chiang Mai

the floor i was on was a little run down and some of the staff was not as nice as usual. also you have to ask for pool towels and they use to be right by the pool. the pool area was a little run down. I stay at this hotel everytime I am in Chiang mai so I am hoping it is better next year when I come to chiang mai again.

The location is great The shower leaked so the bathroom floor was wet constantly but other than that it was good.

Facilities and Staff made the stay comfortable ! James at the Reception was very courteous. The view from my balcony was superb ?

AC didn’t work. I spent the entire night muffling my ears from squeaking noise coming out of that thing. And thus no AC, no sleep. Not a bit. Luckily I booked it for just one night. A night of reckoning.

Late check-in available Place had a wierd vibe. It wasn't clean and the lights didn't work in the room

Though the room is very spacious it gives one a feeling of ancient times and gloominess. It could really use a good interior designer's perspective and recommendations. This is more like a suggestion from us.

Very good

Spacious hotel. Lots of room in the lobby. Quite and lovely atmosphere. The staff were very kind and helpful all the time. Not very crowded at the time when we were there. The view from the hotel room was also very pleasant and peaceful. The toilet overflowed in the first day. But the staff was really embarrassed and cleaned it right away. The net connection and speed was truly horrible:/ It should be upgraded at earliest to serve the gests better. Old fashioned interiors. Pool experience was very bad, no shower or any other facilities.

Superb

The property needs extensive repairs such as missing screen on the bathroom window to prevent flies, toilet didn’t flush properly, broken faucet, leaking shower handler, ac was cracking so loud, and cleaning throughly both bathroom and bedroom. It would be nice for the management to hire a supervisor to oversee the daily maintenance.

Large room, Staff is helpful, I enjoy Karaoke in the restaurant with many dancers (Teachers and students always use this place for practice).

Checked in last minute for 3 nights after turning up at a dreadful resort before this. Staff were so lovely and helpful let us check in early as room was ready. Pool area ok gets sun late afternoon, about a 10 min walk from centre of Chiang Mai Rooms could be cleaner. Breakfast wasn’t great but lady told us she was about to teach the chef to make English breakfast that week.

It s a beautiful building currently under new ownership and the owner friend explained plans of which will make it exceptional

the bed was fine , the location was good , the cleaning staff where very good ,reception was nice . the room reeked of Pidgeon droppings , and permeated through the air conditioner , so bad we had to turn off the air conditioner in the bedroom so we could sleep . the so called kitchenette ( sink and hot plate ) was actually on the deck amongst the Pidgeon's , the door to the room had dropped so to lock it you had to lift the door up so the lock could engage , the balcony door had no lock . the WIFI was non existent and we saw many people complain , i usually don't complain and put up with some inconveniences but in this case the hotel needs to be struck off booking .coms list .

Great location, large very comfortable rooms. The hotel offers a good breakfast. Entertainment for music lovers each evening relaxing refreshments is perfect. Close to airport and convenient location for transport pickups to see all Chiang Mia attractions.

breakfast was organized... some of choices... some items were empty... eventually refilled... coffee taste bad... both days... maybe no staff drink the coffee??? the bread toaster is on low electric... slow and just gets the bread hot... on one side Room was ok... check in took 20 minutes then had to wait 15 minutes for the room to be ready,,, I ask for a second key and host showed me I had a suite... and no extra key to be issued...????? two host at front desk argued as to how to check me in...??? so stupid I ask for wifi and was given small piece of paper with numbers... which is user name,,, which is passwprd??? why not list user names and passworrds...??? breakfast was organized... plenty of choice... some items were empty... eventually refilled... coffee taste bad... both days... maybe no staff drink the coffee??? the bread toaster is on low electric... slow and just gets the bread hot... on one side

The location was great. Very close to the old city. The restaurant served very good food and the buffet breakfast was wonderful also. Ask to have a ham, egg, cheese omelet especially made for you. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned every day with free bottles of water. There is a refrigerator in the rooms. The only things I would not give it an excellent mark is that the rooms could use some refreshing and the WiFi needs to be updated. The WiFi goes out occasionally. The staff is helpful and wonderful. We met the owner on our last day there. He recently purchased the hotel and is working to make the necessary improvements. He is a very nice man and wants to make improvements to this location. The room rates are very reasonable especially if you book the room with breakfast included. Chiang Mai is a very nice town with many things to see and do. I would not rent a car in Thailand. They drive crazy here and with the InDrive app ride share it is cheap to get a ride. More places less than $2-$3 USD. Rooms need some up dating and WiFi needs updating.
