Two things need some attention. 1. The floor of the standing shower stall was slippery because of soap and not draining well. 2. Mini bar had bottled beers but there was nobottle opener.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood but still within a short walk of the Night Bazaar, which made the location very convenient. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of options each morning. The fitness and wellness area is excellent, with a large gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and outdoor pool. Our room was on a high floor with a view of the distant mountains, but the surrounding neighborhood is fairly quiet, so there isn’t much to look at immediately around the hotel.

Very luxurious, the food was equally on an outstanding level. They had very good decorations for the festive season. Staff was excellent, nothing was too much, very helpful and friendly. The kids area at the pool was mostly in the shade, and the pool water was quite cold. For the time of year we visited, these conditions meant that most children at the pool could not spend very long enjoying the facilities.

Comfortable luxury accommodations is decent part of Chiang Mai about a 12-minute walk to shops and restaurants in the Night Bazaar area of a Chiang Mai. Very courteous and helpful staff.? Food in the main restaurant was excellent, offering one of the most sumptuous breakfasts I have had. Poor location. Although it is a 12-minute walk to the Night Bazaar area of Chiang Mai, the immediate area is quite run down and filthy and did not feel the safest. The property itself, albeit clean, is also quite dated and in need of an upgrade. Food in the main restaurant was excellent, offering one of the most sumptuous breakfasts I have had. However, the cocktail hour and afternoon tea—which one has access to with a fairly pricey upgrade—were quite mediocre and not at all worth the price of upgrade.

Courteous helpful staff. Luxury-grade property in a decent part of Chiang Mai. On of the most sumptuous breakfasts available. The Shangri La, while still a perfectly clean and opulent luxury resort, is overpriced and in need of an upgrade. The staff, while extremely courteous and helpful, did not quite make the mark of a five-start resort. While the main restaurant offers one of the most sumptuous breakfasts I have had, the afternoon tea and cocktail hours—available for guests paying a USD60 upgrade—were somewhat mediocre and not worth the price of upgrade. Also, NO COFFEE of tea is available anywhere (not even within a couple blocks’ walk)(!) except for guests purchasing the full breakfast buffet upgrade. No coffee is available for purchase, and there are also no coffee machines in the guest rooms. For a $400/night luxury hotel, coffee should be available for free or at least for purchase. While being a fairly short 12-minute walk to the Night Bazaar area of Chiang Mai (where there is an abundance of restaurants and shops), the immediate area is quite run-down and filthy and did not feel the safest

Clean, spacious The staff was very petty, checking any little “extras” we should pay for, which are all extremely expensive. Parts of The pool were under renovation so the kids couldnt enjoy it to the fullest. The food was fair. The children activities were very dull.

The property was lush, gorgeous and an amazing pool! The beds were very comfy! The room was a good size! The bathroom was stunning with a big walk in shower and full tub. The lighting in the bar at night was very bright…if they just took the lights down a notch it would make the bar very cozy at night. A very minor point, just a recommendation.

I really enjoyed my stay. The concierge was very helpful. We used airport pick up and drop off. The spa was super luxurious. I highly recommend breakfast here every morning too. We even had our laundry done the same day. None
