Tapae Gate Villa

We liked our quiet room, bathroom and all free snacks and drinks provided. We liked the most the attentive and thoughtful staff of the hotel. It's rare you would be taken care of so well and so full heartedly. Included breakfast was good and well served. Nothing to complain about.

The staff was EXCEPTIONAL. They had breakfast ready early for us before cafe even opened on days we had tours. They had our laundry done timely and for very inexpensive. The room was spacious enough and clean. Pool was small and nowhere to really sit to use it

It was an excellent location and we could walk almost anywhere. We also wanted to be walkable from New Years Eve celebrations for which it was perfect. The staff were also INCREDIBLY KIND and hospitable. The cafe was also pretty good. Some of the facilites in the room were a little aged.

The location was excellent, right near Tapae Gate and could easily walk into the center of Chang Mai. The room was larger than I needed for one person, but nice if you had another person! The staff was attentive and always able to help with booking any excursions. There was an adorable hotel cat that the staff also attended to! The breakfast was a great addition and the lattes were some of the best I had in my travels. Great location to venture around Chang Mai! The price was fine, a bit more than I had hoped. Maybe because there was a pool, but it was more of a very small lap pool and wasn't necessary.

I arrived early for breakfast as soon they opened, and with 30 minutes before my excursion picked up time. There were only 4 other guests at the cafe, yet the staff managed to mixup my order and would not listen to my inquiries about my coffee. I left for my excursion with an empty stomach and after that bad experience I felt really uncomfortable at the hotel for the next 3 days. Would not recommend staying here. Not worth the high price service relationship.

Stuff there are just awesome, so friendly and helpful all time! We stayed 2 weeks and all team helped us with any our concerns. In our room was a bit noisy at nights.

This was probably the best hotel we stayed at during our trip. The staff is incredible - everyone is extremely friendly and always trying to help! The pool is small but kept clean and is in the sun, with a view of the temple just behind the wall. The rooms are spacious, well laid out and spotlessly clean. No issue with mosquitoes either. The location isn’t very central but close to Tha Phae gate and conveniently located on Mun Mueang road if you have a scooter.

Staff tried their best and very friendly Not sure how this hotel advertises as 4* and advertises up to 50% off in its price. Bed was difficult to enter / exit with wooden sides. Breakfast was average with limited options. Pool can only accommodate 2 people at one time.

Good sized room, great location Rooms have weird split doors which are annoying to use. Breakfast was a small choice from the hotels cafe Pool is soooo small and only had room for 2 sun loungers

The staff is great - very friendly and helpful. The pool is small, but a welcomed late afternoon break from the heat. The property is quiet, clean and a good location - can walk to most/all in town areas you would want to visit. Cafes and 7-11 and numerous restaurants near by. The breakfast is yummy and quick and available until 11am For the price point - nothing.

Lovely property! Comfortable bed, clean room, refreshing pool and a wonderful staff. The daily breakfast was yummy, loved the fresh fruit and yogurt and the omelettes were light and fluffy. They also have Thai food available for breakfast, loved the fried rice and the pad c u noodles :) The staff are so friendly and so very helpful, loved everyone! N/A

Excellent location directly across from the central city Tapae Gate moat. Room was layed out a bit oddly and was on the pool. Breakfast - good options both western and Thai - staff provided extras. Large tub in room took up unnecessary space

Great location. Very attentive staff & so nice at breakfast which was freshly cooked. Nice coffee too. Room was a bit drap & tight. Everything you needed but just dated.

It is quite old and my room had a full glass wall facing the main street.

Superb

- Staff are very friendly and attentive. - Hotel is very clean and safe. - Location of the hotel in the old town within walking distance to many food outlets and local markets. - The bed size is too large for the size of the room making movement within the room very difficult, and leaving no space for a decent sitting. - The bed has a very wide (50 - 60 cm) protruding edges making it unsafe for getting into and out of the bed. - The bathroom is exorbitantly small with poor amenities. - The bathtub is located inside the room (outside the bathroom) thus, occupying a significant amount of the room area. - The Ala cart menu for the breakfast has very limited choices and the restaurant closes at 6:00 pm.

Exceptional

Decent enough hotel, but terribly overpriced for what it offers. For example, a very limited breakfast is offered, but for some strange reason, only ONE cup of coffee comes with the breakfast.
