Location. Dirty. Hot water lasted 2 minutes. Air conditioning worked a little then froze. Check in was slow . Only accepted cash up front as payment. Crummy bed. Bathroom fixtures not cleaned. Somebody else’s socks on my room floor after it was cleaned.

Not cleaning and very old.

It’s proximity to the city center.

100 year old mattress.

Pool area is great and the rooms haven't been updated since the 70s, it's a vibe Fan is really loud if you get a room with no AC

The room was spacious enough and comfortable, other than the problem with the windows. I liked the mattresses-simple but comfortable foam mattresses. And, the woman who checked me in was polite. I also liked the interior of the room - it was sort of an old style, but I found it pleasant, and the colors and aesthetic were pleasing (personally, I prefer this older style over a renovated place). The wood the windows were made of was warped in such a way that the windows wouldn't close all the way. Also, you have to open the screens in order to adjust the windows, and as I did that, one of the parts holding one side of the screen in place just fell right off, and another almost did. It felt like everything around the window area was quite literally falling apart. It made me understand the other reviews, some of which say that this hotel is very poorly maintained. The problem was so blatant and so major that I knew I couldn't just ask reception "please fix the windows" because all the wood of the windows just needs to be replaced or sanded waaayyyy down in order to not be so warped that they can't close. Like, the amount that part of the room was falling apart was almost laughable, like, wait, are you serious? If not for that, I would have given this hotel a 10/10. With a little maintenance, it would be great value for money.

The old men staff The lady staff - she didn't give us a discount for not checking out on the day we're suppose to check out, in short, we checked out 1 night earlier with no consoderation at all ☹️?

A wonderfully funky time-travel place to stay. House-keeping staff very happy-go-lucky and accommodating. Plus the ever-friendly and joking Mr Happy, the major-domo. Oh, and the DIY coffee bar in the lobby was very convenient. Note: in the main lobby below the wide-screen TV there's a cupboard space where visitors leave their used books (I did too). Well, the bed was big and wide (nice), but the window half was weak in support, so I slept on the door side which had good support.

Good location The bed was awful. Broken. So uncomfortable. The sheets and blanket were so scratchy and cheap. We felt like we didn't even have a hotel room because we couldn't be comfortable on the bed at all and we are not picky. 15years ago this place was still charming and a good price. Now it's too far gone.

Extremely polite and helpful staff. It is not rated a 5 Star Hotel but it definately has 5 Star Service and staff! Great value overall. My room was spacious, plenty of room in the closet for my clothes durung my 3 week stay. I had my own bathroom, A/C and a good size refrigerator. I really liked being within the Old City Square or "Moat"...it is 1.6km x 1.6k.m (almost 1 mile x 1 mile square) I was within walking distance of soo much. I walked everywhere I could for the first 2 weeks...then used ref taxis or the Grab app to go further...which is a very inexpensive option for travel. The doors on the closets were a little finicky but with that being my only complaint...I think my overall stay was exceptional!
