The common areas in the hotel were filthy. They need to repaint. They need new carpeting or at least shampoo it. The rooms were clean.
-
The hotel wasn’t bad location was amazing only downfalls valet was full and no real amenities besides fitness center was expecting a pool or even outside sitting area

Location was extremely convenient to the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium via a 15 min walk and minutes from the train station. The hotel interior is dated though. Carpet is old and paint is peeling off the walls. The wood furniture in the bathroom is worn and there's no fan/exhaust in the bathroom. There was also no security in the elevators - it was not required to scan a key to use the elevator, so anyone could walk in, press any floor and gain access. Location is great for a short stay and the front desk staff were very helpful, and Paris Baguette being right there was also a plus for those early mornings. However, it wouldn't be my first choice when visiting the area again.

The carpet was falling off the wall where it was suppose to be the base around the room. Elevators are terribly slow, ice machine not working at all on 4th floor and the ice machines on the two other floors were empty. The front desk staff were very pleasant. The valet service is wonderful as well.

When we went to the room, it was beautiful! Nice and cool in there (it was a bit muggy at this time of year) and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the view was spectacular! We had the balcony view with a clear path to the lake! Overall, this property was amazing! We have stayed one other time in Chicago at a different hotel that was supposedly a higher rating and was far from impressed. This hotel beat that one by far! If we return to Chicago, I will definitely stay here again!

Very good hotel

The room was clean but outdated. Cleanliness matters most, however. Because the room had a definite slant to it. Was uneven enough that one of the drawers kept falling open. Staff was friendly but not terribly knowledgeable about area restaurants etc. We figured it all out by asking around. The hotel was close to many different places that we enjoyed.

The photos are different from reality.

Carpet in room felt dirty. Used footwear in room. Room had strong air freshener scent when we checked in. Not good for those with sinus issues. Took the one day for smell to go away.
-
Cleaning staff were very professional and helpful, did a great job cleaning the rooms and making us feel valued. The front desk employees were not helpful nor friendly. The entire building needs a lot of work. Room conditions were pretty bad.
-
The good part, great location. The bad: dirty, smelly carpets, no ventilation in bathroom resulting in damaged ceiling and mold. Staff offered another room, but with the same problem. There are no fans in the bathrooms, and natural ventilation doesn't work. This hotel needs some maintenance.
-
Location Room was small and could hardly move around bed.. like 5 inch walk way, no fan in bathroom and every time we blew dry hair smoke alarm would go off, house keeping only left 2 towels and zero wash clothes for 3 people. No microwave in the room had to go to lobby to warm anything up
-
The location of this property is why I booked: walking distance to the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium through Millenium Park right across the street. The room was nothing fancy but had everything we need and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel has a direct access door to he patisserie next door with fabulous pastries to start the day. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

Good location, near to grant park, near bus stop, 20mins take bus to cbd Room is small to accommodate for 4 pax. Not loading and unloading bay for passengers pick up and drop off
-
The staff were very helpful and accommodating however, there were some items in the room that were broken. Waiting for extra pillows or cribs can take a while. The coffee in the morning was always cold.
-
Location is perfect and the cafe next door with 10% discount was wonderful. The room was big and the bathroom was really great. The beds, matresses are excellent. I love the irond board and the shower pressure really nice. The smell of the room because of dump was worrible. The receptionist was rude when I complained, told me they would look at it, but they never did. Very unhelpfull, The coffee machine was there, but the coffee is the worst I ever tasted. The fitness room is a joke, Very very small.
-
Cons Small very small beds that are old. AC doesn't work well. Rooms are very tiny and bathroom was dingy. Very outdated. Pillows were very small and no extra linens.
-
The parking is only valet parking. However there is nowhere to park to get valet making it very difficult to use. The rooms are very very dated and in poor condition. Peeling paint stained furniture etc. It is also incredibly loud in the room. The street noise was enough to keep us up the entire time we were there. That being said they are a nice walking distance from the museum district and a reasonable uber ride to the miracle mile. There are also plenty of restaurants that you can walk to. The room said it could hold 6 people, however the couch did not pull out so our family if 5 was very very squished.

No breakfast or swimming pool. Limited street parking. Hotel garage parking next door if you want to pay 55 a night. Located right off Michigan Ave. Affordable and convenient for visiting Lake Michigan sights. 3 blocks the other way are all sorts of good restaurants and night.
