Sophy Hyde Park

Messler/ Food and drinks from Messler were very tasty and the staff was nice.

Very nice hotel. But you would think since its a restaurant on site their would be microwaves in every room. No way to heat up my leftovers 😫

My biggest disappointment was the dining experience. There is no room service, which was inconvenient. I had breakfast at the restaurant and ordered an omelette, but it arrived hard and very brown. The staff were gracious about it and kindly offered me something else and reduced the cost, which I appreciated. I also had dinner at the restaurant, but unfortunately the food was just okay and lacked flavor. Given the overall quality and atmosphere of the hotel, I expected the dining experience to be stronger. Overall, Sophy is a lovely, comfortable hotel with beautiful spaces, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Everything about my stay was amazing. Even the customer service that was provided when I booked the wrong dates! Will definitely be staying here again, next time I'm in Chicago!

One of the best spots close to the lake in a beautiful neighborhood! You can’t beat the deal only thing could be better is dedicated parking. But you still can find a park nearby, overall one of the best hotels south of down town and really upscale

The Sophy is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Hyde Park. The rooms and bathroom are very spacious and the bed was very uncomfortable. Every staff member that I interacted with was extremely courteous and helpful.

The staff was very attentive and accommodating in every way and made our stay unlike any hotel I’ve ever been to and I am well travelled

Expedia told me the check-in time was 3. When I got there at 3:15, they told me check-in was 4pm.

The elevators required key card, but the key card machine wasn't working. Staff was good about getting us into our room.

Every thing Parking

Everything seemed decent. Didn't realize until I was told that the restaurant should have been opened, also, they had fans in the lobby for whatever reason. We didn't get any room service for the three days we were there. Asked service worker for face cloths didn't get them( I don't think she understood or didn't speak English). Incoming it's nicely decorated.

For me, the location was good, WiFi was good, room was good No valet parking, just self park down the road; HVAC system in lobby & restaurant areas was down for 5 days…the fix came the am I was leaving; ice machines did not work - not 1 of them

The room was spacious, clean, and well decorated. The A/C in the hallways, elevators and lobby was out of order my entitre stay (7/23-7/26).

AC was out in the lobby while they were waiting for a part, other than that, stay was great!
