Hotel Route - Inn Chitose Ekimae

The room is a bit dated, but considering the price, it’s very cost-efficient and offers good value overall. The location and basic amenities met our needs, and everything was functional. However, the main downside was a strong cigarette smell in the room. This was quite surprising, especially since most hotels in Japan are non-smoking or strictly separate smoking rooms. Unfortunately, it made our stay less comfortable. If you’re sensitive to smoke, it’s worth double-checking with the hotel in advance. Otherwise, for the price, it’s a reasonable option.

Great location. Staff were very friendly. I had an Onsen on site. Free on-site parking. The restaurant over the road was amazing.

We stayed for a quick overnight after arriving at New Chitose airport, the hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from the rental car agency. The room was very small, as was the bathroom, so I did not expect much for the included breakfast. The next morning I was blown away, it was probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. A huge selection of Japanese and western items, all very good. I went back for thirds! The room we were in was very small: it looked like it was designed for a single bed however two beds were in it, so not much room to move: a couple feet around the perimeter of the beds. Not a big deal for us because we arrived late and just needed a place to sleep before we left the next morning, but it would be cramped if one were to stay a couple days.

Everything was clean, staff spoke good English, and it was very affordable. There was nothing I didn't like.

The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort and convenience. The spa was free and very nice. The breakfast buffet was great. We did not leave hungry! The rooms were spacious for a business hotel, and quite comfortable. There wasn't space on the free airport shuttle for our time frame. However, the train from the nearby station was convenient enough.

I don't know If I did a mistake while booking it, but the room was for smokers and we don't smoke. So the room wasn't confortable because of the smell.

Booked through Booking.com. Sent 3 messages through booking to register for an airport shuttle and didn’t receive any reply. Only got a reply when I sent an email that I found in another website, and then the shuttle was already full.

The breakfast is good. Free shuttle service is really helping. Staff is good and prepare to assist. Room is toooooo small to accommodate even a mid size luggage. Not even fit to stay 2 people even in twin room sharing.

We only stayed here for one night, and we booked it because it's close to the airport. That said, it exceeded my expectations. The rooms are nice and spacious enough, and the hotel as a super nice public bath facility. The buffet style breakfast is good with plenty of choice.

I had never stayed at a Route Inn property before, but I will definitely be staying in the future! The breakfast is simply best-in-class, and the public bath area is fabulous. The "single" bed was very comfortable, and larger than I expected. The location in Chitose is super convenient, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I spent the duration of my return flight to Tokyo going through their directory to look for other Route Inn properties I want to stay at, and found at least a dozen!
