The Elmwood Motel

Clearly an older property, but a nicely refurbished room. Decent shower and bathroom. The bed was enormous. Reasonably comfortable seating. Off-Street carparking was appreciated. Good location, close to town and Merivale area We stayed three nights and didn't get any form of servicing of the room. No new towels. No rubbish removed. The booking.com advert said that room service was provided, but they must have missed the memo. Because of this, I would say that this place is only worth staying for one or maybe two nights.

I loved the area, the vibe in the rooms - very comfortable and enjoyable. The hosts were fantastic and let us leave our car there while we went for a walk, which was generous of them. nothing

We had a wonderful stay at Elmwood Motel and would happily return. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that a great deal of care and attention goes into maintaining the property to a very high standard. Our unit had been recently renovated and was beautifully presented, with stylish, modern furnishings that created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The space itself was generous, allowing us to relax comfortably, and it was equipped with everything we needed for a few nights in Christchurch. What stood out most was the exceptional cleanliness, everything was immaculate, fresh, and clearly very well cared for, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. The bed was a great size and incredibly comfortable, complemented by high quality linen that ensured a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was equally impressive, with excellent water pressure in the shower and lovely toiletries provided, which felt like a thoughtful touch. There is also a charming café just a few minutes’ walk down the road, which was perfect for a relaxed coffee outing. When we checked out, we asked if it would be possible to store our bags for a couple of hours while we went out for coffee, and the manager was very accommodating and happy to assist, which we really appreciated. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend The Elmwood Motel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and great value place to stay in Christchurch. Nothing it was perfect

If we ever stay in Christchruch we will always stay at the Elmwood. The location is within walking distance into the CBD and located in a very nice part of Christchurch. The manager is extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful old tudor style accomodation, extremely clean and fresh looking. All the amenities needed for an overnight stay. nothing.

Lovely renovated place close to the City. Uber was only $10-13. Rooms were very spacious. There was a washing machine and dryer guests could use for $8. Parking was a little tight for a big car but worked.

Spacious apartment-like design with a large bathroom, parking in front of the unit, cozy bed and close to awesome restaurants/cafes.

It was exactly what we needed.

We were very pleased with everything with this motel. Value for money- exceptional. Very clean, great showers, great beds, great space and great location.
