The Fern Kochi, Series by Marriott

I loved everything about the property—the comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful ambience, delicious food, and the peaceful natural surroundings. It was a wonderful stay with my family. Nothing to dislike. Everything was excellent, and we had a very pleasant experience.

Old Trident hotel just rebranded as The Fern, no renovations

The staff I chose this hotel because it’s a Marriott, but the property is extremely old. The AC was blowing a very bad smell, and the room didn’t feel properly cleaned ,probably because the hotel is so outdated. I had booked for two nights, but the experience was disappointing enough that I checked out after the first night and left.

I liked the quietness of the property Excellent morning breakfast with huge variety of foods Kind staff We can tell that you are slowly trying to make improvements to an older outdated property Beds were too soft and sinky Personal preference but the hair conditioner provided was horrible. Swimming pool ladders were not good Although we informed staff prior to coming we were celebrating our anniversary there was no note, nothing special done etc

This was one of the nicest properties we stayed at in Southern India. The location was a bit removed from the touristy areas, but it was quiet and easily accessible by Uber/tuk tuk/water taxi. If you wish to dine off-property there aren’t many options within walking distance, but it’s not expensive to take an Uber to Fort Kochi or other neighborhoods.

The shower door didn't close properly, so the water spilled out on the bathroom floor. And the bathtub could use some work (Aesthetic features)

Nothing Having stayed in Grand Hyatt, Le Meridian and Marriott at Kochi this property was not anywhere near I have stayed at 4 star hotels also and properties were very good This one was not

Very good location

I didn't like anything about the property. In photos is good but the actual staying very bad. I don't recommend it at all. Service is not good, the food morning breakfast is not good, I felt very old food not fresh and no taste at all. Strongly not recommended. The rooms and elevator and furniture with a bed need to be replaced or renovated. The room smells bad.

It’s a beautiful property, the hospitality is superb and the food was good. I really love the swimming pool.

We really enjoyed the widespread breakfast, which included both Kerala delicacies and healthy options. The restaurant staff was especially considerate—offering a complimentary dessert and salad during one of our dinners, and even packing an early breakfast for our daughter before our flight. The hotel staff also guided us well on nearby travel options, helping us avoid city traffic. While the location is a bit secluded, it felt very safe. Just a note: the access road isn’t well-lit, so it’s best to avoid late-night strolls. Play area was not available.
