Super clean and newly renovated. Loved it. Staff was lovely and helpful. Fantastic location only steps from the Rhine and a short 5-10 minute walk to Cologne cathedral and the train station. I can't think of anything. It was that good.

Nicely styled rooms in the heart of Cologne. Rooms as pretty as in the pictures. Great location. Some staff was very friendly and helpful. Others were soso. Asked at 2:30pm if my room might be ready. Answer: “Check-In is at 3pm”. Asked for an extra pillow but never got it. No real breakfast available at the hotel. The staff sends you to another location 200m away.

The site is fantastic and really well done. I'd imagine it's not easy to merge two or 3 very old buildings into a single, cohesive structure with modern amenities, but they did it. We stayed on a Saturday evening and the number of people out and about and the live ad hoc music was fun. Fitting 6 into a hotel in downtown Cologne is a challenge, and while this wasn't the cheapest option, I was certainly glad they had a two-bedroom option, each with sleeper sofa-beds. Not exactly spacious by American standards, but still surprisingly commodious by European standards. I would definitely stay here again. The room was mostly clean except for all the crumbs in the couches when we pulled out the sofa beds for our kids. They have a small a la carte breakfast on site with small pastries, and that was acceptable, but nothing with any substantial protein. They give you coupons for a discount at a restaurant off-property. I'll admit we didn't read the coupon carefully, but it the discount felt like a bad joke. Something to the order of a free piece of bread with your breakfast or some other such nonsense.
