The $100pp we paid for Club membership is not worth spending the extra money. We did not have a proper explanation or understanding of what that entitled us while on property. We were also constantly searching for a staff member to assist us. The staff seemed to be primarily be summer students working a summer job. Perhaps proper training and setting expectation with the younger crew is in order. I’m thinking Del prices justify a level of service one would expect to be matching.

We have stayed at The Del many times and usually it is above average. We visited Friday through Sunday for a quick weekend. Coronado was very busy in general. We tried to get a drink before dinner at the Babcock and Story bar. We sat at a table for 15-20 minutes, no server so we left . I think I saw one person helping every table and they were all full. Need more servers.

On arrival, we had to queue to check in. Hotel staff were neither particularly friendly or helpful. As a family of five, we booked two adjoining rooms as we could not be accommodated in one. Despite keeping the adjoining door open, only one room was cleaned. We contacted reception & were assured someone would come up straight away, but nobody arrived. The pool area looked lovely, but the hotel was extremely busy & we could not find an available sunbed during our stay. The beach was also under a red flag due to high bacteria levels, meaning we could not safely enter the sea. Although this was outside the hotel’s control, we were disappointed not to receive any warning before or during our stay. We were also told beach sunbeds cost an additional $25 per person per day. We were surprised by over £300 in additional charges at the end of our stay, including a historic building tax, on top of what we had already paid. Food & drinks were also extremely expensive, so we ate elsewhere for most meals. I had not realised when booking how accessible the hotel & beach are to the general public & expected the facilities to feel more exclusive given the price. Overall, the experience fell short of what we expected from a hotel of this reputation & price

It is an amazing property set in the beautiful paradise that is Coronado Island. The Del is definitely top notch. Everything from the amenities, to the room, to the ever-helpful staff make the experience one that stands above the rest. We would like to especially recognize Lizze at reception and Vanessa, host of the Ghost Tour, for the passion they show forth in making the guests feel welcome and engaged. Absolutely the best resort vacation we have taken, hands down. We can't wait to stay at the Del again!

Historic, beachfront hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay in Coronado. The hotel restaurants are expensive, but the nearby restaurants are reasonably priced. We loved being able to walk out directly onto the beach.
-
Simply a superb experience here. The only negative consideration is the inability to swim in the ocean due to Tijuana’s sewage issues.
-
huge hotel easily got lost but very beautiful. Staff did not warn us about the beach not available for swimming due to sewage which we were really looking forward to we even bough lounge chairs and umbrella by the beach.
-
The beds were terrible, the ocean out front is unusable due to the raw sewage issue from Mexico, and our room had a view of the receiving dock where trucks ran all night. But the hotel itself is beautiful, iconic, and has great food, service and views. Food is, of course, compl overpriced.

Very good

Such a unique hotel with a really charming atmosphere. Right when you walk into the beautiful wood lobby, it feels way more like a resort than a regular hotel. The breakfast was also really good, especially the freshly made omelets and the fresh meats. While the hotel has great features, there are a few drawbacks to consider. The property gets quite busy with tourist traffic, meaning there isn't a quiet, intimate restaurant option for a peaceful late dinner. Additionally, for the price point, the breakfast selection could be improved by including premium options like fresh croissants and cappuccinos. My main disappointment was the value of the last-minute rooms. At a $1,000 price tag, you expect a premium experience, but these rooms felt closer to an average motel stay. They are designed as tiny, 'Paris-style' rooms, which unfortunately just means they are cramped with very little space around the bed, saggy mattresses, and no view. While they might be acceptable at a much lower price, they do not make sense at this tier. Next time, I would recommend either booking well in advance to secure a proper room size and view, or choosing a different hotel altogether. Lastly, there was a billing error on my departure receipt where I was charged for valet parking despite only using self-parking. It was frustrating to have to spend extra time calling the hotel after checkout to dispute and correct the mistake.

Don't waste your money on this place unless you like lining up for evreything, terse staff and relatively poor customer service given the outlandish rates they charge for a room. The highlight of the whole trip was Summwr who checked us in. Otherwise an entirely forgettable stay that doesn't come close to justifying $1500 a night. I'll keep my money for a Four Seasons or Ritz Carleton next time.

We also had access to the Ocean Club, which was fantastic and really elevated the experience. The staff throughout the property were friendly and welcoming, and the amenities were excellent. We made the most of our stay with a relaxing spa day, a beach lounger, and a pool cabana—all of which made it feel like a true getaway. Overall, Hotel del Coronado exceeded our expectations. Between the gorgeous accommodations, exceptional amenities, beautiful setting, and wonderful service, it was a memorable stay and one we would happily repeat

Room was really nice and clean, with a large outdoor patio (we were in a garden room). However, it was really loud at night with people moving around on the floors above us. A lot of loud thudding noises, not sure if it was people closing doors or what. The pool and beach are nice, but some of the pool loungers are all ripped up. You also have to pay additional for beach chairs. With the amount you are paying to stay, I would expect this to be included. Overall, we had a nice stay, but you could easily stay somewhere less expensive and still take advantage of many of the hotel amenities. For example, the beach chair rental is only $10 more for non hotel guests. Parking was also very expensive,

However, the overall service was disappointing. Check-in took about 30 minutes, and our room was not ready until 4:30 PM. Few servers at the breakfast buffet and ice cream shop came across as cold and unwelcoming. One staff member from concierge was especially dismissive when I simply asked for directions. Breakfast was average, and there were quite a few flies around the buffet area, which was unpleasant. Overall, nice property and clean rooms, but the service level definitely needs improvement.

Had great time with the family celebrating a milestone birthday.. very close to the airport and lots of excellent restaurants around this hotel. Private and neat beach. Will visit again.

Great resort - the amenities made the resort amazing. So much to do on the property.
