The Bower Coronado

The general manager, Sean Murphy was also very professional. There is an adorable rooftop bar called the Dive, which had great drinks and a great vibe. Although we did not eat there, the food looked delicious, especially the hamburgers. All of the staff, at the dive, we’re friendly and welcoming Our room was very contemporary and comfy. We especially liked the high-end Dyson hair blower. That was a great perk!! We can highly recommend the Bauer boutique hotel for your stay in Coronado!!

Renovated hotel with unique layout. Great location. Staff was helpful and parking was easier than was expected based on others' comments.

The first night, we figured we could wait it out since The Dive closes at 10 p.m. However, once the bar closed, the noise continued while staff cleaned and moved tables and chairs. The sound of furniture being dragged across the floor directly above us was incredibly loud and went on well after closing. I brought the issue to the staff that first night and asked if we could move rooms, but unfortunately, there was no other availability. From the conversation, it also seemed that the noise associated with this particular room was a known issue. The following night was even worse. Since it was Friday, the bar stayed busy later, followed again by the noise of cleanup and furniture being moved overhead. After a second night of being unable to get a decent night's sleep, I asked to cancel the remaining two nights of our four-night reservation, and we moved to another nearby hotel. It's disappointing because the staff themselves were genuinely lovely, and we really wanted to have a positive experience. But being able to sleep is a pretty fundamental part of a hotel stay. If a room is located directly beneath The Dive and is known to experience this level of noise, guests should be made aware before booking or checking in.

We had an amazing stay! Perfect location, very quiet, and the staff were all wonderful! We would definitely stay again!

Location was good The Lobby had a really bad smell everytime we walked in. Also they keep the glass bottles of water open with no cover which is not clean

Not impressed at all. The floors and carpets were filthy. There was 1 washcloth when we came in. So overrated.

When we arrived, we were a little early. The guy at the front desk told us that someone would call us as soon as the room was ready, but unfortunately, no one ever called me. The room itself was decent. It had nice finishes and new appliances, which was pleasant. However, there is no parking, and having to pay $65 for parking at a five-star hotel is not ideal. I don’t mind paying for parking, but it is simply inconvenient. After check-out, the woman at the front desk was absolutely unfriendly. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but when you’re at work, you represent the face of the business. If guests have a negative experience with the staff, the business will ultimately suffer. On the other hand, the guys who helped us with our luggage were very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would rate my experience 3 out of 5, unfortunately with a minus. Would I come back? Most likely not. Nevertheless, I sincerely wish your business success and hope everything works out well for you.

Wonderful experience - friendliest hotel we’ve experienced in a long time, nicely appointed room - the Dive was excellent - we ate and had cocktails there a lot. Pour over coffee in the room - wonderful touch.

This hotel is fairly new. Shops, restaurants near by and the beach is about an 8 min walk. I’ve b stayed there twice now and I haven’t had any issues with staff or the room. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the food is good.

The View and the colors of the place

Check‑in was cumbersome, and staff did not appear to have access to real‑time room availability or status. Although the team was friendly and tried to be helpful, it was clear they didn’t have the tools or information needed to fully support guest requests. Room & Amenities The room itself was interesting, but several basics were missing: The bathroom had no place to hang towels, which made it inconvenient. There was no refrigerator or microwave, which limited comfort and practicality for longer stays. Dog‑Friendly Considerations While the property is advertised as dog‑friendly, there was no designated area for dogs to relieve themselves, which made it difficult to travel with pets. Overall Impression Friendly staff and unique rooms, but operational issues and missing amenities impacted the stay. With better staff tools, clearer processes, and improved facilities—especially for pet‑friendly travelers—the experience could be significantly better.

The staff was beyond hospitable and very welcoming and treated my husband who's birthday was yesterday when we checked in with the utmost respect. The room amenities was superb and the over atmosphere there is surreal. They even upgrade our room to have a view and patio which was amazing! We will definitely be back and great job Bower team!

A 5-star rating would offer all amenities which is was lacking. No water bottles, coffee machine. I did not see a safe or an ironing board which are all things you would see at a 4 star hotel like the Hilton. No sundries. You have to go to the Del to buy.

Exceptional

The area EVERYTHING ELSE. I have never had such an awful experience at a supposedly 5star hotel. Me and my partner are absolutely mortified of our stay. After agreeing a reduced amount % of our stay, we have now been charged the full amount. We now cannot contact them and get through to anyone to discuss. They also said they wouldn’t charge until it was agreed… To tell a story, we got our room and there were hairs in the bathroom all over the shower which we were told that it would be cleaned… we were there for 2 nights and it wasn’t taken away once or cleaned. Another example, we did not have overnight stay clean ONCE! Our room was left dirty, with dirty sheets, dirty towels and everything was a mess. No one cleaned it. I asked the morning of going out to make sure our room was being cleaned, we left at 10am and got back at 6pm… nothing. The bed duvet was dirty with stains too. Unfortunately this hotel has really let us down and the wrong total charge was nail in coffin. Impossible to contact, tried 20 times in 10 mins. See photos attached.
