Location, shared kitchen, 24 hours reception, & aesthetic communal area Room is cold in the night, smell bathroom, lack of basic amenities, & impolite or non English speaking staff

The bed was comfortable and the TV has Netflix. The whole place looks like a Bridgerton or Downton Abbey postcard, until you look closely that is ... First, when I checked in they told me that there was a problem with my reservation and I would have to change rooms the following morning (check out at 10am and back in at 1pm) even though the reservation was made for two nights. They said due to the error they would upgrade me to a room with a bathroom the second night. The room was a let down, every corner was absolutely filthy, I don't think they've swept (let alone mopped) in months (see attached pics). The towel was fraying and super thin. You get exactly one towel, no hand towel to go with it. Also, the windows from my room opened onto the smoking balcony. That's ok, except the blinds were broken and one of the windows couldn't be closed all the way, so when people smoke, it just comes in the room. And you feel like you're in a fishbowl since you can't totally close the blinds either. Other guests were rude bathroom hogs at 4am. I've stayed in lots of places with a shared bathroom and have never had an issue. The problem here is they have one toilet for three rooms, each with two double beds. The toilet and shower are connected so if someone decides to, they can spend a long time in there. I complained at 4am and asked to find another bathroom (that didn't even have toilet paper in it). I asked again to confirm I was moving rooms and the guy at the front desk said, yes. Later that morning, after I'd packed up all my stuff to move rooms they told me I didn't have to anymore. I said, well you told me I am and I want to now. And they said, well you didn't pay for it. So, I told them to cancel my booking for the next night and found a MUCH nicer place for literally $3 more. Keep looking, there are much better places in Cusco. Also, breakfast is pitiful- cold bread, bananas and whole avocados with no knives. No coffee! Only tea. Also, you have to do your own dishes which I expect at a hostel but not a hotel.

Bamba House Cusco has a very charming retro style with antique furniture, a pleasant dining room, and a nice terrace. The shower is good and there is reliable hot water. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, and the beds and pillows are comfortable. Rooms facing the street can be quite noisy, so it’s worth requesting a quieter room when booking. The property is currently being expanded, but it seems that more attention should be given to maintenance. The bathroom ceiling has some mold, and the entrance door squeaks. It’s surprising that such a simple fix, like a bit of WD-40 hasn’t been done. The bathroom is also missing a cup for toothbrushes, and the soap dispenser does not work.

The only problem is the noise from the street next

Breakfast was nice but started at 7am but many of our day trips started at 4:30am. Location was quiet and rooms were quiet. Lots of wardrobe space for hanging wet coats. Renovations were being done on the property which will look great when completed. Hostel had lots of character and charm. Pleasant staff. Great shower. Grocery store just down the street. Narrow stairs made hauling up suitcases a bit difficult. Bagged breakfast would have been nice.

Walls are quite thin. We can hear people above walking around and talking. The booking.com integration to the hostel's own booking system does not seem to work well. We were told the room we booked weren't available and my group got separated into multiple rooms.

On our end, big mistake — we didn't notice the bathroom was shared when making the booking... but that’s on us. The bathroom was ok, but there were exposed power cables that looked unsafe, no toilet brush, and no decent hand soap. No hairdryer either — if needed, you had to ask for it at reception. The hot water only started working after running the tap for a few minutes, and oddly, it came out when pointing the handle toward the cold water direction ??‍♀️. The room was acceptable, but having the balcony seating area just outside our bedroom window wasn’t ideal because of the noise when people were talking. There was a power ? point between the two beds in our room, hanging loose and very unsafe. Even though it worked, it was impossible to charge a phone properly because the plug would slip out and disconnect. No local TV in our room. Wifi Internet intermittent. The location was OK. Breakfast basic. Receptionist nice.

Breakfast was delicious! Staff was so lovely, and the beds were so comfortable and warm (it can get chilly in other places sometimes!).

Great location. Not many people in hostel. Quietly. Friendly staff. A pic not from my room unfortunately Christmas decorations were not nice… a lot of cords in my small room.. holes on walls.. the room was a bit worse than other rooms

We only had 5 hours from arriving there until our 4-days Inca tour left. It completely met our needs

Central location. Staff were super supportive, knowledgeable and friendly. The common areas were great. I didn’t like to share a bathroom although it was never in use when I wanted it. The room was locked with a padlock and there was a gap in the door people could see through if they wanted to not that they would have looked for long.

This hotel has a Harry Potter feel and look. Also, the room was clean, especially bath room with hot water. In addition, you can buy a bottle of water for only S/1. In conclusion, it was nice price for the cleanliness, facilities , breakfast and services.

Butique style hostel with very nice staff. Big bathroom with hot water, good breakfast and english speaking staff. Main hall is amazing with many decorations where you can have your late tea (available for whole day). Every room is different but you get what you see on the picture. Definitely recommended!
