Location, location. Smallish room. Run down. Staff were stand offish. Overpriced for a two star hotel.
-
Location excellent for our needs; staff very helpful
-
Room was nice however they need some upgrades. The breakfast was very satisfying and the staff were exceptional

There was a strong moldy smell throughout the room. I think having a carpet in a highly humid climate may not be the best idea.

Everything is good at the Slipway. I have been staying there over the past 20 years and things have just been improving year by year. Many restaurant option, super view, the pool was added few years back and it's a must... Nothing.... all good
-
Slipway is a comfortable and safe area with adequate activities 10 am checkout is too early
-
Many restaurants and kids play area in the ground floor Nothing
-
All good for a short stay To many steps
-
Water temperature control in the shower and tiny bathroom
-
Location of breakfast excellent, Breakfast itself was decent The room was tiny, we were not given a choice at check in to opt for a bigger room not facing teh ocean
-
The location is perfect. However, If you are travveling to Dar foir a business trip and the internet in your room does not work well enough for online meeting, its is a big problem. hence, I had to sit in the crowded lobby for 4.5 hours while doing my meetings.
-
Slightly noisy in the corridors towards the end of the day, but that's expected given it's around a shopping area with busy restaurants. That said, everything you need is in one place with high-quality restaurants and pubs.

WiFi not stable¹

Location. Close to lots of restaurants and shops All rooms have green carpet that stinks badly. They also use this extremely strong air freshener to try and mask the smell but it only makes it worse. Even switching rooms didn’t make a difference but I really didn’t want to keep complaining. Breakfast offerings are limited, service is very slow and drinks served the bar are always warm.

Location is amazing especially for a solo traveler. Breakfast was okay, can be improved. Room service menu is very limited The room I was initially allocated (Sea View) had a very bad smell (from the dirt carpet) looked very worn, honestly it made my 1st night miserable. I was moved to a standard room the next day after complaining. The standard rooms are renovated and much decent and comfortable, although smaller than the initial booked room. It is sad that you cannot walk or swim by the beach, it is just for the view.

The staff was amazing, and the alone issue was the shower water kept coming out and one room AC was not working, and we had to get people to come in and fix it several times which cause inconvenience.

Many options for restaurants and various shops. Market next door to hotel to buy gifts. Great breakfast and staff very friendly. Aircon in room worked well. Beautiful ocean view from balcony. South African plug point as well as universal. Bar fridge inside closet with water. Room is a bit old but not too bad. Door handle was loose and made it difficult to open the door. No mosquito nets or spray.

Location is pretty good. In a seemingly safe part of the city, right "near the action" and with easy access to beaches. Breakfast was solid, probably above average for a hotel. There seemed to be quite a few power outages. The WiFi connection was slow at times and would disconnect a lot, didn't really seem reliable.

The location is excellent. The shops & restaurants are good. The transfer service is good quality. The room was very dated and, whilst clean, it had an unfortunate sour/unclean smell.
