Del Mar Beach Hotel

I liked it but also felt like the partial ocean view room did not count as a partial ocean view rooms because the lifeguard tower is in the way at least for the room number I had and it costs extra which didn’t make sense

The location was very nice. Easy access to the beach and nice restaurants.

The staff were so friendly Room was super comfortable

We made a quick trip into town to go to the horse races, The hotel is close to the track and right on the water, The staff upgraded our room to an ocean view which was very nice. The rooms are comfortable and the place is steps to the water, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Worked perfect.

Wonderful relaxing stay

and over slept and didn’t wake up to our alarm or the front desk phone call. With that being said, we woke up abruptly to a loud pounding on the door. My fiancé and I opened the door and there in front was the day manager standing with a gentleman next to her. She then proceeded with a very loud, rude tone of voice saying to us that we had ten minutes to pack our belongings and leave. That if not, we would be charged an other day or an extra fee for another hour. I then told her I understand that we were a little over our check out time and that we were willing to pay for extra time if we had to, but that there was no reason for her to talk to us in that tone of voice as being scolded by a parent. We said to her that as soon as we got our belongings we would go to the front desk and drop off the keys.Then she just walked away saying we had 10 minutes. Once we went to the front desk to drop off the keys, her WHOLE demeanor changed!! As if I was talking to a whole different person. She mentioned the reason she was acting the way she was, is that because she has had instances where people have passed out or passed away! But honestly, if a guest opens the door and you see that the guest is alive and ok, I do not believe there should be ANY reason for an employee to be rude and bothered on the contrary that employee/manager should have a look of worry or concern,in my opinion. Can’t beat the location! Large patio right on the sand and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms are good sized, comfortable, and AC works great. Train noise overnight, no microwaves, not enough parking.

Del Mar Hotel was perfectly located on the beautiful beach with a nice patio overlooking with chaise lounges and tables. The rooms were clean and updated. And the staff were friendly and helpful! We look forward to returning in the future.

Love this hotel BUT the parking could def be better/ had to park way away one night, and second night paid 20.00+ to park in meter spot

Everything was excellent

We stayed here for a family staycation. The location is fantastic. Right on the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms are nice and clean, and well appointed. The rooms have a mini refrigerator, safe, and keruig coffee machine. The hotel provides beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and boogie boards to enjoy your time on the beach. The lobby offers wine that you can enjoy through a wine dispenser that you pay for when you checkout. The only negative I have are that the walls are thin so we could hear the guest upstairs and the train going by in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, this is something to consider. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again.
