Saltstayz Select - Malcha & Chankyapuri

The only positive point is that the hotel is located very close to many of the embassies. This place is a small setup with 6 or 7 rooms altogether on the first floor of a building. It is a bit difficult to locate as there are no signboards outside that identify the hotel (but this is not a serious concern!). The staff, though very nice people, are not at all professional. They have no clue how to run such a place. The power went off for more than two hours in the afternoon (in May, in Delhi summer!), and they did not have any backup. Apparently, the generator was not repaired in time. The power went off the next morning around 7 am. My visa appointment was at 08:30, and I had to leave at 08:00. They were not able to provide me breakfast because there was no electricity! According to the booking.com site, facilities included free toiletries, but nothing was provided, despite several requests. This place charges a high price and the service is worse than what you receive in lodges.

The bathroom door was very big compared to the frame and I couldn't close it.

It would have been good,if there was restaurant also available at the hotel. Nearby restaurants/cafes are very expensive. There was no telephone available in the room to reach out to reception.

The Saltstayz Select at Malcha Marg, Chanakyapuri is very close to the US Embassy where I had to visit. It is in a walkable distance. This was the key reason for me to book room at Saltstayz Select, Malch marg, Chanakyapuri. The location is very good with lot of good restaurants all around. The rooms are small but neat. The rates are reasonable when the location is considered. I enjoyed the stay with my collegues. Bathrooms could be kept slightly more tidy.

Just the location was good. But definitely not worth the price. They charge you more because of the location only. Mostly embassy applicants go there. Not worth the price.

Amenities

Excellent location for US Embassy work. Its above the Standard Chartered bank of Malcha market. Plenty of autos to get around. Had a nice dinner at Gujarat Bhawan. Lokesh was very helpful in terms of what not to carry, allowed me to keep the room until 11am, he says most people don't listen to him and end up coming back to leave stuff like their phones. Had a nice breakfast after my US visa work was done and I was back. Autos at embassy were also easily willing to come back, worst case you can walk back in 10 mins. No signage so you have to ask at the ground floor and climb up stairs. No lift or formal lobby area.

We stayed at Saltstayz Select Malcha during our trip to Delhi and had a great experience. The location in the Delhi Embassy Area was convenient for us, with easy access to offices and attractions. The delicious North Indian and Chinese dishes served at the restaurant were a highlight of our stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our visit.

Although my interview was at 10:30 AM and I arrived back around noon, the staff was kind enough to provide me a room to freshen up. The room was clean, hygienic, and well-maintained, which I really appreciated. Breakfast included a sunny side up egg and an omelette, which was simple but satisfying. Overall, the service was polite and professional. I would definitely recommend Saltstayz for anyone visiting the embassy or looking for a comfortable short stay in the area.

Nothing Reached hotel from airport around 4:00 AM (had informed hotel in advance) there was no hotel name outside the building, stood on the road with our taxi driver for 1/2 an hour, phone was answered after calling multiple times. Room was very cold, not able to sleep at all to top it off they are located on the first floor in a bulding where there was no elevator for our luggage and our aching joints. Had booked the hotel for 4 days, checked out first morning. Did not receive a refund, lost 3/4 of amount that was charged upon check in!!

Location has great potential. However, needs a major renovation and segment oriented marketing. Room was not cleaned and filthy with dust, mold and paint peels. AC ducts not been clean from long time....seems ages, no one one focus. I did late check - in around 10 pm on Holi festival day, and requested for late check-out by 2 pm which was refused, and demand more money.
