We called ahead as requested to let the Inn know we would arrive after 9pm. The first call rang for about 3 minutes before someone answered, only to immediately hang up. We called back and eventually notified the staff. Upon arrival, we rang the doorbell twice and, despite there being a Ring camera, had to call before a drowsy desk clerk finally greeted us.Our room had several issues. The AC was not cooling, and when I called the front desk, I was told nothing could be done until maintenance arrived at 8am. I requested a fan and was hung up on. The next morning, I had to go to the front desk myself before someone addressed the issue. Thankfully, the daytime clerk immediately sent maintenance, and the technician was polite, helpful, and brought us a fan.During our two-night stay, our room was not serviced and we received no fresh towels. There was no mini fridge, the toilet did not flush properly, and the bathroom mirror actually fell onto my friend while she was getting ready for our concert. The bed also squeaked with the slightest movement, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. The only reason I'm not giving one star is because of the helpful daytime clerk and maintenance technician, who genuinely went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable.

Beautiful place definitely needs some patchwork because there’s hole where ceiling lights used to be otherwise a nice place to stay

The room was clean and comfortable. Beautifully updated old building. We were on the 3rd floor in the summer and were super comfortable with the temperature.

Parking was great and a clean room with a comfortable bed was all we needed!

We had a wonderful stay! It's a beautiful spot, and we especially loved the courtyard area for eating breakfast and lounging. The only downside was that our room didn't have a mini fridge, but that was something I should have considered ahead of time. I especially loved all of the gorgeous Victorian architecture!

Loved our stay here!

We loved the stay at The Inn. The location was prime for everywhere we wanted to go. The room we stayed it was good but next time we’ll get a bigger room for us. Hotel parking was easy. Every single person we interacted with at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We will be back next time we’re in Detroit.

Room very small and too warm for the summer.

Loved the uniqueness of the property!

Very clean and safe hotel in Mid Town Detroit. Great access to Q-Line to visit downtown. Staff was very helpful in carrying bags and food recommendations. Hope to visit again in the future.

Perfect location to visit so many things! Nice atmosphere and wonderful staff.

Very unique place to stay, which I liked. The staff was pleasant and informative. The bed was super comfortable. There was no mini fridge in the room though which would have been appreciated.

Please restore some of the breakfast staples you had before, boiled eggs, and pastries etc. I wish the pastry weekend can be extended to days and add boiled eggs and oatmeal. I am a loyal patron of the Inn properties nonetheless. I appreciate how they accommodate lodgers with their luggage holding facilities, that is a big plus!

Nice stay in well preserved and maintained historical buildings. Staff was super helpful. More improvements in the works and we look forward to returning.

Great location. Nice area. Historic.
-
Other than the uncomfortably warm room, the Inn was beautiful and nice to stay at. It would have been wonderful to have working air conditioning though.
-
Great location close to museums. Nice weekend brunch. NY Times and Wall Street available for reading.

Fantastic location and the staff were really nice. The room was comfortable and sitting rooms were very cool. My only complaint I had was a difficult time with the temperature in the room. I had a window AC and box fan and that was fine for the day time but it stayed really cold during the night, and the thermostat didn’t seem to work to heat it back up.

Great lodging option for those staying in Detroit. Friendly staff and great rooms in wonderful old former upscale homes from the 1880’s. The hotel is close to many attractions. I will say that trying to check in online did not work very well and the phone number listed did not seem to go anywhere. I looked them up on the internet, got the correct phone number and called to check in which went smoothly. The issue may have been because I went through Expedia to book the room. We will definitely go back!
