The room was extremely clean and comfortable, awesome decore in room and hotel, tv and room furnishings very nice. The staff and management of this hotel were so helpful and friendly, always happy to help . Helped with our bags at on top floor . Thanks so much we loved our stay here. Maybe be back again one day. ??? The kettle location was a little awkward but kinda worked . We enjoyed tee, coffee and breakfasts downstairs in the dining room.

The breakfast was made to order, including full breakfast. The second morning, the restaurant was short-staffed so it took a while to get tables cleaned. However, the food was very good with orange juice, milk, bread/toast, jams & butter and cereal available. The rooms were huge and updated. Beds very comfortable. Interior of hotel was a bit worn but the rooms were very nice. Nothing fancy about the breakfast room but what mattered more was the high quality of food and service (despite lack of personnel on our second day). Also, front desk staff was almost invisible, but no problem. Appeared to have limited parking... we got the last spot out front and did not see any more.

The staff were lovely. Cooked Breakfast was good. Very accommodating when we arrived to help with my father’s disabilities. This hotel has SO much potential but it’s tired… very tired. Admittedly, we had a dog and so could have had a room that wasn’t their best. We had a family room which had no wardrobe… and so we couldn’t unpack and hang up things. There was however a few hangers on the back of the door. If you book a family room please make sure that if you have small children you ensure that the kettle is up high as the room that we had, the kettle was on a very low table which a child could very easily reach. On arrival, we were advised that the restaurant wasn’t open due to illness but hoped it would be open the next evening. Breakfast the next morning was good. We hadn’t booked it but was told we could go along if we wanted it. The cooked brekkie was good. We headed out for the day after brekkie and when we came back there were no hotel staff anywhere but a sign with a number to call was left on the reception desk. The restaurant wasn’t open and so we decided to come for a drink at the bar instead… alas that was also shut for the afternoon/night. It would have been nice for the Manager to have called and advised us that they were shutting up shop for the afternoon/evening. The next morning we thought we’d grab some brekkie before heading home but again there was no staff and no breakfast. I did call the number but nobody answered, I left a message and asked for someone to call to explain. I have yet to hear from someone.

The bed was comfortable and the staff were really nice Waited few hours for our babies cot bed, screws sticking up between the bathroom and room going in to the bedroom. Also plug on sink kept getting stuck and door wouldn’t close on the shower. Could hear dog barking in the next room from us none stop.

Location Tables in bar were dirty. Two in particular with sticky drink spills. Outside noise from people sitting on the terrace - after 11pm. Poor quality beds... ouch!

The hotel itself is a bit dated and in need of tlc, having said that, it IS an old, old building. Free parking on the grounds is plentiful. It is directly across from the car ferry port. On arrival, I was greeted by Pam, she was really so lovely, friendly and helpful. The hotel wasn't busy so she had upgraded my room to a far bigger room with a beautiful view of the sea. Pam was so efficient, and couldn't do enough to make my stay as comfortable a she could. I was there to escape for a few days of 'me time' after the most stressful start to the year for me. My room was spotless, the bathroom was huge and there was a beautiful big roll-top bath as well as a separate shower cubicle. My bed (a very long 4 poster)was comfortable and again very clean. There was also a corner sofa facing the TV which had Netflix and plenty of other channels to watch at night. The hotel was so quiet with a beautiful setting. One thing to look out for is that although it says on this site that there is no breakfast option, there actually is and it's very nice too, so maybe contact the hotel direct for that. Many thanks to Pam for her communication before my arrival, she got back to me really fast. I will return. The only thing that was lacking was a couple of maintenance problems e.g missing secondary glazing in the bathroom which made it very draughty. This didn't affect my stay.

Breakfast was very good. Excellent location for ferry although a little far out from town centre. Hotel was a bit dated and could do with some upgrading.

Friendly, engaged staff in the form of the woman who looked after us. Spacious room. Wi-Fi was good. Bed was comfortable. Our bathroom door would not shut, which wasn’t ideal and because of an insubstantial partition between us and the next room, there wasn’t as much privacy as one might have preferred to enjoy. The electricity tripped out on our floor on our final morning and so our shower wasn’t available. The helpful concierge offered us the use of a shower in a room in another floor but it had a faulty thermostat so that shower was either freezing or scalding. We passed all these comments on when we checked out and they were received in good spirit but we were asked to also provide written feedback.
