I was told I had been upgraded when I arrived to check in, but upon seeing the mold covered bathroom and bedroom ceilings, the toilet starting to fall off it's wall mounting, the dilapidated furniture and carpeting, and the cockroach in my bedroom, I would hate to have seen what the state of my original room would have been! Cleaning staff also regularly ignored the "do not disturb" sign hung on the door, and on two occasions tried to force my door open despite the chain lock (!!!) which was very unsettling to hear as I was getting reading the bathroom. The location is also terrible with almost nothing of interest within walking distance. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. I was so disappointed with everything that I moved my flight up by a day to return to Cape Town so I wound't have to stay another night, and when I checked out the lady at the desk actually tried to guilt trip me for checking out early after they had "upgraded" me, even though I didn't complain about the room! That was surreal. Definitely not going to be back here anytime soon (and hopefully ever!).

Rooms were big, it was clean and everything worked, comfortable bed. It was a pleasant stay and I would stay again despite the negatives, but this is not my first choice in East London, sadly that was fully booked on this trip. Sadly the fan in the bedroom had one speed, super slow and did nothing, the aircon also would not stay on for longer than a few minutes and as it was cold one evening the heat cycle did not really do it. The light in the bathroom flickered like a strobe light if you turned the light by the sink on. The desk and various other bits of furniture are getting close to the sell by date and need replacing. Not keen on plastic cups provided and not one bottle of drinking water provided.

I loved the fact that it was at the beachfront. The room was huge it was like a suite with a lounge and kitche area. I thoroughly enjoyed standing on the balcony and watching th sunrise and listening to the ocean day and night. The carperts were smelly they need to be changed. The couches need to be cleaned they have stains l them. Counter top had a chip in the wood The rubber was pealing from the window inside The place needs a lot of mantainance and they do minimum. There was no wifi in my bedroom only in the lounge. I was told by staff that it is made that way so it doesnt reach the carpot. So it was a loss to me as a paying guest. Lamp in the lounge arear is full of rust Management is not mantaining such a lovely big and beachfront hotel.

The breakfast was great! I booked a room with balcony, however I only found out the room doesn't have one in the morning, because I checked in at 00:00.

The sea view with balcony, also their breakfast is delicious When we got there there where no Cards to go in and out of the room. Each and every time we went out we have to be accompanied by a stuff to open for us.

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, very nice view of the ocean

Closer to the beach Staff at reception were just being at work, not providing service with a smile. Plus they must consider allocating iron areas per floor or allow each room to have its own dedicated iron and board.
