Overall the hotel was good value for the money. Room was comfortable and quiet. The room was tied, and not cleaned to a very high standard. No hand towels provided. Breakfast was very basic, and certainly not award winning. Very little on offer, small kettle with tea bags and coffee sachets, a few bits of bread and a toaster, a few apples and oranges and 2 types of boxed cereals. Basic cooked breakfast with no choices options. The photos of breakfast are very misleading! I believe the hotel has been recently changed ownership and staff and services have been stripped back. It advertises itself as AA 4 Star but no longer appears to have any AA accreditation.

Great location near seafront & amenities No internal locks on doors, and doors close to neighbouring door entrances.

Hotel position is great, 2 mins to seafront. Parking permits are good at £3.50 per day. Breakfast was good, but a menu would have been better to show possible choices. Staff very polite. Room was very hot could only open 1 out of 3 windows, had two fans in room, only one worked, not helpful when asked about replacement, led to a very hot uncomfortable night. Reasonable price including breakfast. See above

This was no way a 4 star hotel dirty, no air con and many more issues. I would like to make a complaint as was not as advertised Everything

The room was OK - it was clean and comfortable, the bathroom needed some TLC, some of the bedroom furniture also needed updating or sorting out (room 6) The location was ideal for us, walking distance to the beech

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the receptionist was very eager to get anything fixed that could be a problem, nice enough accommodation, rather big room, furnishing (except bed) was relatively new (updated in the last maybe 10 years), I liked the silky soft duvet The hotel might have been a 4 star hotel 30 years ago, by now it's lived down, old mattresses, beds, pillows etc, odd bubbles on the walls, an overall old and damp smell, biggest disappointment was the breakfast: 2 kinds of toast with small tubs of 2 kinds of ready-made Marmelade, honey, 3 cornflakes (in small boxes), milk, water, juice, a tiny kettle for tea and instant coffee, nothing like the pictures! This - alongside the very outdated bed - is the biggest flaw in my opinion. They did offer to cook an English breakfast though other reviews and ppl ordering it said that it was disgusting, also they have a no refills policy on warm food, overall an okay stay with many flaws that do not translate to a 4 star hotel, the actual accommodation is not accurate to the pictures posted online which I think is the biggest scam, also the bathroom had a really old shower, again probably high end 30 years ago, by now the seal is breaking and falling apart, the toilet flushing was taped over with white tape, the sink didn't fit the underlying unit

The hotel is in a great location. We were there to use the congress centre which was literally round the corner. We were able to park easily and cheaply. The breakfast was absolutely awful! This was such a shame as I had picked this hotel as people had said the breakfast was great and with two teenagers I thought filling up on a good breakfast would help alleviate having to spend out on another meal. I presume the hotel has been taken over by new owners? Unfortunately, whilst lovely people, I don't think they have any hospitality experience whatsoever. As we were only there for 2 days I didn't complain but would have been very disappointed to have been staying there longer. Points for the owners: If you are going to serve a full English breakfast, you need to know how to cook it and you really should offer pork products (sausage & bacon), you also need to know how to cook eggs!. If you're not able to do this then don't, just offer a continental (decent croissants, pastries, cereals etc) I have never seen scrambled egg that was so over cooked it resembled granola. My husband was so put off by the scrambled egg, he opted for fried.... one was like a frisbee, the yolk was split and rock hard, the other was barley cooked and still snotty! You also need a bigger kettle or an urn for people to have tea. Providing a travel kettle that barely gets two cups out of it is not ideal for a dining room. Also just put all your plates and cups out, as every minute we were having to ask for something as it wasn't already put out. Safe to say we didn't even attempt breakfast on the second day and went to a cafe nearby. Also, the rooms were very hot with no fans offered, the lift didn't work and the showers were not very powerful. The hotel needs a bit of money spent on it to update these things. This could be a fab hotel but it needs some people with experience to run it.
