Elkotel - The Newest Hotel in Elko

It's nice and clean, and the breakfast was very good, thank you so much ♥️

We had a reservation at the Elkotel in Elko that had been made months in advance for a Saturday night. When we arrived, the hotel allowed us to check in and unload our vehicle before telling us that the air conditioning in our assigned room was not working. We later learned they had apparently known about the AC issue for days, yet they failed to notify us beforehand or give us any opportunity to make other arrangements. The room was not habitable, and the hotel had no replacement rooms available. As a result, we were left stranded in Elko on a Saturday night without accommodations. It took approximately three hours to find another place to stay, and because we were traveling with my handicapped mother, this was especially difficult and upsetting. She had to be moved twice because of the hotel’s failure to communicate and properly manage the situation. To make matters worse, I had to call the hotel afterward to get the charges removed for a room we could not use. The manager, apparently named Sam, did not answer the phone or make any effort to personally resolve the situation. This was not a minor inconvenience. This was a complete failure of customer service, basic communication, and hotel management. A hotel that knows a reserved room is unusable should notify the guest before arrival, not after they have checked in and unloaded their vehicle. Horrible management and ownership.

The cutest hotel we found passing through Elko! Highly recommend! It’s new, clean and beautifully decorated.

Also, heads up- cheaper to book online vs in person. Overall, It’s Elko lol and I would still be back!

Everything was great except the bed is extremely hard.

Elkotel was a nice place to stay. The rooms were clean. The AC units are a little nosy and their ice machines were not working. But overall it was a decent place to say. We would definitely stay with them again.

The hotel seems fairly new and well maintained. The decor is very nice as well. However, what gets a very good review for the ambience, gets the opposite for the breakfast. In my opinion, if a hotel is going to offer a free breakfast, make your customers feel that you care, and want you to return again. It’s just not a good look to have bad food. It’s lazy, and shows no sense of pride in what you do. It’s probably better to not even have a free breakfast, because surely customers would demand a refund if they had to pay for it. The fruit was obviously not fresh, with the apples starting to spoil. The eggs were a bit slimy, and the white bread was on par with the cheapest bread on sale. To think that a customer could enter the hotel impressed, but leave in the opposite fashion, makes one wonder if this ever crossed management’s mind?

From the minute we arrived, the staff did everything they could to make sure our experience was exceptional. They answered questions about the area, connected with us about needs, and gave us answers to questions we did not know we had. The hotel was decorated with the elk theme throughout and hotel-specific amenities were available in the room. They appeared to be renovating/repairing the floor we were staying on so that level was not quite as quiet (or clean) as I thought it might be, but once we got to our room, we had everything we needed. The breakfast options were good - for those travelling with pets, there were special dog treats as well. I would definitely return.

Tv couldn’t get internet signal and the only two ice machines were broken.

Horrible experience. When checking in they did not give us the rooms that we reserved. When we finally did get keys to rooms, we walked in to find people ALREADY in the rooms they gave us keys too!!! The manager was not helpful. The next morning during the breakfast there was no coffee for over 2 hours and they ran out of food. When checking out we found that we were DOUBLE CHARGED for our rooms and there was a mysterious extra fee that was charged. The only one that was helpful was the assistant manager that was working that morning, they should give her a raise!

The property was lovely and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The hotel was very full so most likely they were understaffed. Our room was missing towels, pillows, and bath gel. There were no working ice machines on any floor. So, although the property was fine, it was not perfect.

Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine but the staff did not respond to requests for additional cutlery and coffee that were empty for quite a while. Might be understaffed. Would stay here again though.

Everything was clean and readily available. The mattress was as stiff as a board and rock hard. Can tell that everything for the hotel was done on a budget and some corners were cut during the building/ remodeling.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. Beds and pillows are not comfortable.

Sitting chair had numerous stains, Bed extremely hard, tiny bed pillows. Electrical outlets did not work. Ice machine nonoperable. Very disappointed. Was expecting a NEW hotel.

A/C was not working, asked front desk to have someone look at it. They said maybe it’s coolant or froze so turn it off for an hour and see if it works. Never worked. That’s not great service. No ice in any of the ice machines. Buffet breakfast was a joke it’s not a buffet. I knew I should have stayed where I normally stay but decided to try something new never again.
