Best Western Escondido Hotel

The poll was very murky. I liked the laundry area though! The staff were almost never at the front. It was hot in the lobby and humid for some reason. They close the lounge area when it’s not breakfast so you can’t really hang out in the lobby if needed to. The couch bed was literal springs with fabric sheet. Just feels like the place could be updated!

The room size was good real disappointed with the pillows provided and the lack of room service. In addition to that the night we checked in the front desk lady couldn't find our reservation although we provided the reservation number and provided our names spelled out. I had to repeat myself on multiple occasions and she finally found our reservation under the spelling provided multiple times.

Staff was friendly and the overall hotel was clean. The outside of the hotel is run down, the hotel room has a bit of a funky smell, and there is a motion sensing light that would turn on the whole night when we would make even the slightest movement in bed.

This hotel was much better than I expected. We got a 1 bedroom king suite with separate bedroom, and queen bed and pull-out. It worked very well for our family of 5, and was clean and quiet and comfortable. My only complaint is that there was no outside space to eat breakfast other than the smoking area. For a San Diego hotel, it would be nice to have some outside space. Maybe consider opening the pool area for adults only breakfast in the morning.

The hotel is a block away from a major freeway. But worse than the noise from that is the noise inside the room. The bathroom has constant noise that sounds like a locomotive and it strongly bleeds over into the bedroom and main living area. Then the AC seems extremely old. It’s so bad that I had to turn off the AC while sleeping otherwise it’d seriously startle me and wake me up when it stopped and the compressor would rattle loudly. The sink by the microwave smelled like sewage if the drain got wet. I kept a cup over it all week. There are two phones, one doesn’t work. The furniture looks extremely old and isn’t very comfortable. The pull out couch sounds like severe flatulence every time you sit down. The double closet doors in the bedroom are off track so it was unable to be used. It was not a happy stay but I guess it was at least clean. I will not be staying here again.

When we arrived the lady front desk she so helpful and nice . I sorry forgot her name hopefully give her credit for being best costumer service. I checked around 5:30 pm to 7 pm i believe I'm not sure time . Dates 7/18 to 7/20/2026

Jucuzzi did not seem to warm up. We left immediately. —- would not put a child - or us— in either

Only thing is that you have to request for lotion in the front desk.

Convenient location near intersection of I-15 and Hwy. 78 in Escondido CA. Rooms are quiet, clean and functional, nothing fancy. Low water pressure. Breakfast service OK and handy. Parking lot is awful, needed to be repaved 10 years ago. Front desk staff very nice and helpful.

We came to town for a wedding & stayed for 3 nights as it was the most affordable, best rated hotel near the venue. Staff was very attentive & replenished amenities as we requested. Room was very clean. Only negative thing I can say is that the walls are very thin & you can hear everything going on in the hallway... wasn't ideal on mornings we were trying to sleep in... Otherwise great stay for the price.

I was very disappointed when the pool closed early. When I asked the front desk, the lady said they close at 9pm however, the paperwork in the room stated it closed at 10pm. After a long day at my son’s school orientation at CSUSM we were looking forward to taking a late night swim. When I questioned the lady about the discrepancy on the paperwork she hung up on me. I walked downstairs to ask her her name, and she replied “non of your damn business”. I have never in my life encountered a situation like this at a hotel. To say I was disheartened it an understatement.

Everything was clean and room was quiet. Front staff never smiled and always seemed tired or unhappy.

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Just the shower had low pressure. Otherwise, everything was good and comfortable.
