Exeter Inn

Historic Inn within Exeter, outside of the Hotel Chains which made for a very enjoyable stay. Rooms were good, but do need a bit of updating, which I believe is in the process. This was a Birthday Trip for my 90-year-old Mother. She found the Inn accommodating for her needs. Thoroughly enjoyed the courtyard and afternoon Tea in the Garden. Staff was Excellent. Non-rushed, relaxing and easy stay in a quaint New England town with many historical sites.

Someone anyone at any point while making this reservation should’ve mentioned that the road directly in front of them was closed down and that construction would start again before 7 AM. The property was pretty. It was nice to get a bottle of wine. The rooms are tiny, but fun and fit the area. But having to drive an additional 25 minutes through detours and back roads that nobody mentioned in an area I don’t know and then to be woken up that early made this entire trip a three out of five if not less.

The Exeter Inn is my "go to" when I'm heading to the NH beaches. It is a quiet and unassuming place that is close to everything yet feels remote. The staff is kind and extremely helpful and the value is excellent. I believe they are undergoing a renovation that will help them make it even more pleasant for guests. Highly recommend!

Arrived later in the evening and was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Had a delicious dinner at the bar with our free, complimentary cocktail. Will definitely stay here again.

Basic breakfast, helpful staff, nice old property, very clean. The location is great--just a short walk into town. Our room was musty due to old, moldy AC. We had to turn it off.

Tha property was quaint and had character which is why we chose it. However there was a strong odor throughout the hotel, the cleaning staff was spotty. We went only had our room cleaned 2 out of 6 days even though we hung the service request on the door multiple days for towels. The continental breakfast was also spotty. Apparently they were down a Chef. Staff were either very helpful or borderline rude. I will not return, and would not recommend.

OUR ROOM WAS DIRECTLY ABOVE ROAD CONSTRUCTION THAT FILLED THE ROOM @ 6AM W/THEIR ASPHALT DEMOLITION EQUIPMENT SCRAPING & BELLS BLASTING BACK- UP WARNINGS ETC. WHICH NOT ONLY WOKE US UP BUT KEPT GOING THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. WHY ANY GUESTS WERE PLACED IN THOSE ROOMS IS UNCONSCIONABLE, SHORT SIGHTED, RUDE AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! THE DESK MANAGER WAS EMPATHETIC TO OUR PLIGHT BUT UNABLE TO MAKE ANY CHANGES OR REFUNDS WITHOUT EXPEDIA (THE AGENT W/WHOM THE RESERVATION /PAYMENT WAS MADE) TALKING TO THE PROPERTY MANAGER (JULIE) FIRST. OTHER THAN THE CONSTRUCTION DIRECTLY OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW & ROOM PLACEMENT RUINING OUR SLEEP THE PLACE MET OUR NEEDS.

It’s gorgeous, green and lush. The property is very English in the best way. It was exceptional I think it’s charm and the gardens.

It’s a beautiful old hotel. The room I stayed in was small. Very quiet and elegant. The restaurant is very good.
