Golden North Inn

We just needed a few hours to sleep after a long trip from NY. The facility was basic and very clean. The airport shuttle arrived in ten minutes. The staff were friendly and shared information about Alaska.

Sewage smell came up through the bathtub drain. I covered the bathtub drain with a Clorox wipe and it reduced sewer smell.

Airport shuttle and well thought out clean room. For a small room it was good, just missing tissues. Smiling 😃

Close to airport, easy to get into room on ground floor, I was glad not to get the second floor with luggage. Free shuttle to the airport at 3am was on time and easy to book. I was only there overnight because of my early flight so I did not use any of the amenities, arrived late and left early, But they were ablet to accommodate my fresh frozen fish 20lb box in their freezer for the overnight

The location was close to fred meyers. The convience was nice to supplies where alaska is remote. As for the stay I would recommend. It has everything you need for a comfort stay and the staff were accommodating for my late overnight booking. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Free shuttle to/from airport. The room was outdated and had a bad smell. The bed was old and very uncomfortable. After spending one night there, I wanted to leave immediately.

While the two rooms were clean, they were small and underwhelming at first glance. However, all of us agreed that the beds were ultra comfy! The airport transit was very prompt and reliable. The breakfast buffet was compact, the contained the perfect variety of high-quality products to satisfy all. There isn’t really a dining area, but we all enjoyed hanging out on the few barstools while we ate breakfast and received local recommendations from the very helpful Front Desk clerk. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who needs an airport stay.

I liked when I got to leave The hole in the bed that you sank in. The smell of mildew in the room. The smell of urine in the bathroom.

Free shuttle to/from airport and train depot was helpful. Walking distance to Fred Meyer food, bus stop, and a couple fast food places.

Nothing staff was very rude and said I could go into the room but he was going to be sure to watch the camera and ensure I don’t bring an extra guess ? No I didn’t

Easy check in exactly what I needed.

We stayed at the Golden North Inn 2 different nights before and after a remote fly-in camping trip. The rooms were recently updated and the hotel offers an assortment of free breakfast options (good quality yogurt, instant oatmeal, bagels or sweet rolls, good coffee). The staff is responsive and helpful. The mattress is a bit softer than I prefer, the only negative. The duvet covers are clean and white. This is a basic hotel with clean and modern decor for a decent price in Fairbanks in the summer. The grocery is a block away. They have lovely hanging flower baskets along the front of the hotel.
