The hotel and location are beautiful. Our room was great with a wonderful view. We walked down to the beach and the grounds were lovely. It was too chilly for the pool but it's nice to have when it's warmer. The breakfast choices were plentiful. The key was enormous! Not a big deal but a bit of a pain to carry around.

Nice hotel, just feels a little ‘dated’. I think the rooms need a refresher.

The garden was beautiful, the staff were also nice and smiling . The pool was also good The hotel did not meet expectations for a four-star property. • Breakfast had very little variety and the eggs were always cold. • Dinner was overpriced with small portions. • Bedsheets were not changed regularly during our 10-day stay, and the beds were uncomfortable. • The hotel feels old and in need of renovation. • Pool area lacked services (no food or drinks available). • Location is quite secluded, with everything around closing early (around 9 PM). • The atmosphere is more suited for elderly guests or families—definitely not ideal for young people or couples looking for a lively, fun experience. • Overall, very expensive for the quality of services and facilities provided. • if you want to go to the city you will need a taxi or walk by door for 25 minutes

Everything and everyone! This is the best place we stayed in Portugal! Close to the beach - a short walk down a private path through lovely garden and orchards. Not in the mess of hotels downtown but just a short drive there. Great restaurants within walking distance including a couple on the beach! The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful! Fantastic experience!

The grounds were beautiful and the beach was stunning and perfect. The Staff were very friendly and inviting. The location was great and fantastic views form our balcony. Being in Portugal, in the Algarve - you should spend more time out and about then in your room. But when you are in your room - it should be a compliment to your outside adventures of the day. Sadly this was not the case. The bed was awful - like a slab of granite. The pillows were way past their replacement date, the one chair felt like a torture device. The Split AC unit needs to be replaced. When it was on, it would ramp up like a jet engine every hour for about 5 minutes…so between the AC and the granite slab bed - not a decent night of sleep was had in 8 nights. The quality of the food - very below what we experienced in the rest of the dining experiences we had for the duration of our stay. Breakfast is okay - nothing too bad about it - but certainly go outside the hotel for dinner. Overall - the place has a weird “Hotel California” vibe to it…and it’s very outdated…maybe no longer should be considered a 4 star hotel on this site? Unfortunately the well kept grounds and the beach couldn’t make up for the property’s shortcomings

Location, location Pool, pool bar, scenic view, short walk to the beach.

The room is like a queen room in a palace. The view is astonishing.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Quiet location, beach is nearby. It was disappointing that the room does not come with any room facilities for e.g. water bottles, glasses, coffee.

The view was stunning! The gardens were nice! Direct access to the beach It was a little old fashioned. No tea or coffee facilities in our room. A very crowded room for breakfast. No facility for toasting bread and some of the pastries were stale. We had dinner the first night but it was tasteless so wouldn’t eat there again. Limited linen on the bed There was one additional blanket but it didn’t look too clean.

The location and views are fantastic It’s old and tired, in need of some modernisation and new decor. The bed is horrendously hard! The hot water seemed to only run as tepid some of the time. Breakfast I’d rate as only satisfactory. Definitely not a 4* hotel in my opinion

Very Beautiful location , fair sized room, good breakfast which they failed to remind us was included in the room After a 7 hour drive from Porto there was No porter to help us with our luggage from the car to the room.Reception staff not very friendly. Luke warm water in the shower due to inadequate solar system . Old noisy airconditioner in the room hence we could not sleep with it on. No air conditioning in the hotel and the lift which was like riding in a sauna. Hotel needs a serious upgrade.

Good location , nice pool. Could improve a lot with some small things Large Pillows were poor, very lumpy inside No signage on inside of lift guiding you to pool or dining room you just had to guess! You had to pay for the safe, never encountered this on my travels, this should be part of the service offered by the hotel

The views and breakfast No hot water at arrival, forgot to put towel after cleaning

  • Engine customer Sep 2024

The hotel has a direct access to the beach and the property is located at a perfect location. The staff is helpful.

  • Engine customer Sep 2024

Excellent position and very quiet. Very good access to the beach via a lovely nature trail. The hotel is traditional in its style and outlook which is very refreshing opposed to new hotels where you could be anywhere in the world. This is a family owned and run hotel, Silvia is a lovely host, staff are a credit to her and the hotel. N/A

The location. Fittings and furnishing were quite old.

  • Engine customer Aug 2024

Absolutely stunning views with breathtaking sunsets and chilled atmosphere. Quiet area, lots of greenery, nice swimming pool and private garden exits to the beach. This place is meant only for those visitors who drive there. Location is fairly remote and there will be no taxi available from Ferragudo train station, local buses go only 4x a day. Furthermore, there is a slight 1990’ies vibe in terms of facilities and attitudes. Aircon was too old and too laud, didn’t do the job properly, so we slept with windows wide open. Most difficult part was eating and staff attitude to dietary restrictions. Before arriving I noted that one guest is gluten intolerant, but GF breakfast opinions were provided only 2 out 3 times. The dinner arrangements there includes set menu that consists of 5 elements (soup, salad, bread & pate, mains & desserts) and one set price. But dietary restrictions are not considered, despite advanced warnings, however you are expected to pay full price for items you are unable to eat. Kids are expected to eat the same set, as there is no kids menu. As the location is very remote, eating elsewhere was difficult if you don’t drive.
