The breakfast was excellent- homemade pastry and fresh fruits. Marianna, our host, was so helpful and available. Nothing.

The house is nicely tucked away in the wonderful nature. There’s a view over Florence and Fiesole. Nothing in particular, it was a lovely stay.

Pleasant quiet location. At a good distance from the centre of Florence. Great when travelling by car. Florence is not very driver friendly, so it's great to have parking and then good bus connections. The breakfast served in the room exceeded our expectations.

It's a cosy place not far away from Florence, a small renovated old house accommodating guests in several rooms with private bathrooms. Or at least those two I've had pleasure to stay in over the last 2 years. The rooms, beds and bathrooms were clean, so the fundamental condition was met. The surroundings are predominantly olive groves difficult not to notice in the area. The breakfast is a nice combination of classic continental (eggs) and Italian (coffee and a small piece of sweet pastry) styles. Marianna (the host) is very kind to provide you all sorts of information about the local produce that local farmers offer. She's also helpful with making reservations in local restaurants which can be useful when you're arriving late. The place is about 20 minutes walk from Fiesole. Be aware of the pavement along the road - narrow or sometimes not there (it's a country road). I don't mind that. There isn't a lot of traffic and cars don't drive too fast - which makes it a quiet place - but some people might not be comfortable. For restaurants nearby, you may prefer driving or you need to be ok with well over a 30 minutes walk (one way). When arriving, the house is near the main road but be careful to make the right turn to a local road. You're going to get all the information needed. Still, it's not so difficult to miss it when you're going there for the first time. Florence is surrounded by hills, many of them steep, and that doesn't help. When driving from Florence and using a GPS navigation be careful NOT TO drive through Via Vecchia Fiesolana from San Domenico up to Fiesole. It is officially considered a normal street but that's a bad joke. It's called Vecchia (Old) for a reason. That street is incredibly narrow and climbs pretty steep when approaching Fiesole. I drove there once and will never do that again (it's still makes a nice walk, though). Stay on the main road and it'll be easy. These things don't bother me but they might somebody, so just to keep in mind and adjust expectations: * It's a Florentine countryside. If you don't like walking anywhere under the Tuscan sun (in the summer...) for at least 20 minutes, you're going to have to drive. Which is what you'll most likely do anyway, if you're going to Florence. Not that's impossible to walk there but it's going to be quite a hike. * If you're expecting local stores (e.g. simple groceries) - see above

The host was amazing and really helpfull with everything. It was a relaxing stay, breakfast was delicious and we can absolutely recommend to overnight here. Also it is very close to Florence. Nothing to add here.

Marianna was a superb host! She provided a beautiful, full breakfast each morning with anything you could want- fresh pastries, eggs, prosciutto, yogurt, fruit and of course... cappuccino/ coffee. The Relais was everything it stands for- a country escape- situated in the hills above Florence - providing a cool escape from the bustling, hot city. Our rooms were tended to everyday and bathrooms cleaned daily. But most of all, Marianna was interested in us and our travels and was very helpful with day trip suggestions. We became very friendly with her in no time. She made our trip feel more like a stay with friends/ family. We hope to continue to stay in touch with Marianna and Gennaro. They made our trip even more special than we had expected. I cannot think of anything

Breakfast is beautiful every morning as is the setting. Homemade baked goods, eggs on order, croissants, juice, coffee to order. The stunning and peaceful countryside is the perfect start and finish to any day.
-
Perfect location for hiking and cyckling. nice and quite. Very informal and friendly host. Rooms were made up every day and enough towels:-) The garden. Just a little more comfort and possibilities for a rest outside. Having a breakfast outside is very nice, could be designed and organized a little better.

The room was very spacious and clean. The host very kind. The grounds could use some gardening work and I would pave a path that leads to the entrance. We were there in rainy days and the parking area and short way to the entrance were very muddy and slippery. Our room was impeccable, however the breakfast and check in area had a moldy smell. I know that houses in the countryside can encounter this problem during rainy days due to increased humidity, however I think that some improvement in term of isolating the walls could be done to reduce the odor. Also a bigger sign would help. Other than that, I really liked the rustic atmosphere and room was very comfortable with spacious bathroom. There nothing I really didn't like. I just think few improvement can be done as per previous comment.

It was amazing. The lady Marianna was very welcoming and even helped us out of her way. I would recommend this to everyone and I would visit her again in future. This is the best bed and breakfast I have been to

Beautiful property, cute room, super helpful and accommodating staff The beds were a little too soft for my liking

Everything was perfect! It is a wonderful B&B in Fiesole, runned by a very courteous family. Communication, comfort, cleanliness are immaculate and the center of Fiesole and Florence are easily accessible. I would book it again, at any time!

The hosts at the Florence Country Relais were just amazing. Communication with them was great, and you can really see that they put all their heart and effort into this place. The room was clean, and airconditioned, the breakfast was great, and there was also a possibility to park in front of the building. I could not recommend this place more!

An Oasis in the Middle of Florence Hills! There couldn’t be a better place to start our vacation from. This little gem in Fiesole, one of the elite areas outside the chaotic and touristic City of Florence, was for us literally an oasis. We had just landed in Rome after a 24 hour long flight departed from Sydney, Australia and we were driving north. Temperature was hellish and highway congested. We soon realized that we were in no condition to continue our trip without a stop. It was a very last minute booking and we were lucky we found a room available. Although we only had given Gennaro and Marianna, the owners, 2 hours notice of our arrival, they both immediately did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Once arrived at the location, we were fascinated by this 15th century building and its surroundings. It was immersed in the nature, so silent, so quiet, we almost felt we did not want to break that magic. Inside, the building, the rooms, the breakfast hall were in rustic style furnished and decorated in line with the building. This little oasis only has 4 rooms, which keeps the chaos from checking in and out away. Our room, a double one, with ensuite bathroom was clean and tidy, with a balcony overlooking the super view of the surrounding nature. Breakfast was perfect and abundant. You would not get anything near that with 20Euros in any nearby bar in Fiesole. Gennaro and Marianna are a young couple that truly love what they do. You can feel how passionate they are about their job. We could see and feel how all that passion was turned into high quality service. Moreover, the location is only 10mins drive from Florence city centre, has a free parking included which made us save roughly 40euro per night. We felt home, and definitely will stay again at “Florence Country Relais”.

Although the breakfast tasted good, all of the plates, cups and cutlery was made of wood for a one-time-use. Not good for the climate, and after a couple of days we got a sore mouth due to the cutlery.
-
Walking to the centre of Fiesole is not recommended, especially at night as the roads are very narrow and there are no sidewalks - which is a shame since it not very far. The place is not very easy to find, but the owners gave good indications.

wow what a find! Fantastic building in a beautiful location and the owner Mariana is a super star. Nothing was too much trouble down to booking a table in a local restaurant and helping find parking in Firenze absolutely nothing
