Exceptional facilities and service The place is really expensive. But this is the second time we go because we believe it is one of the best hotels in the world

The building is historic and beautiful. It is located on a hill. The gardens and pool area have a breath taking view of Florence. The hotel has a very relaxed air coupled with service of a very high order. The staff is very efficient , courteous and attentive. The management ensures highest standards in all services. The cuisine served in the restaurants and the selection of wines in the bar and wine cellar are exquisite. Walks in and around the property are wonderful. There are frequent shuttles to and from Piazza della Repubblica in the heart of Florence with very pleasant chauffeurs.

No real spa, rooms could do with being updated and there was a wedding right outside our room one evening which really disrupted our sleep.

location and food exceptional the pool was closed for renovation , it was 40 degrees outside and we paid 2000 euros per night (unacceptable in peak season). housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. they left someone else’s food in the room , and took coffee cups which they didn’t replace. massage was also not as advertised.
