The communal lounge room is fabulous. This would be great if you've just arrived in Melbourne and going to stay longer. The room we stayed in was SO tiny and had no heating. There is much better value nearby for a couple. We thought it would be fun for a night but it was too freezing and tiny.

I love staying here. The atmosphere is comforting and I love the old building. The bedding was very thin. I was cold at night. I would have brought bedding had I known. My last stay was in a queen sized bed and I was warm. This time I was in a bunk and some of us were cold despite having the heater on all night.

Beautiful architecture and amazing location. Plumbing on level three was terrible (leaky showers, no hot water) and there were no blinds on the windows facing the hallway in room 20, which meant we were constantly flooded with blinding light.
