This lovely hotel was perfect from top bottom. The room was creatively decorated and comfortable. The people helping us were very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. The morning breakfast was delicious. The location was stunning. I dream about staying here again.

The hotel was beautifully stylish and redolent of history, and it enjoys a privileged view of the largest private garden in Europe. All the rooms feature the luxury of standing bathtubs in the sleeping area, if you can imagine! Breakfast is of high quality and more than ample, and snacks (including fresh fruit) remain available 24 hours a day. Both breakfast and aperitifs can be enjoyed on the beautiful wraparound terrace overlooking the garden. Finally, the staff were incredibly helpful, making recommendations and reserving wonderful small restaurants for us. I'm not sure we would return to Florence (as great as it is!) if this hotel didn't have room for us! I'm struggling to come up with something, and all I can think of is that the toiletries could have been a little higher- end--I think the hotel's estimation of C. O. Bigelow must be higher than mine, as I've found their products at the dollar store, lol.

Authentic Florentine experience outside of the tourist bubble, yet easy to access to sites of interest. Charming staff and beautiful garden setting.

Beautifully located in the heart of the old town. The room was spacious with high ceilings, and the terrace overlooking the garden was an absolute gem. Breakfast was somewhat limited, with no hot options, and the bed was a bit uncomfortable for my wife.

The hotel offers a little oasis in the center of busy Florence Rooms are very spacious

Very nice. Close to restaurants and things to see in Florence. Very quiet street and terrace overlooked beautiful gardens. Staff was great and very accommodating. Wished we had been able to walk the gardens but understand the owners privacy. Great!!

Very unique and beautiful!

Fabulous hotel in a beautiful location on the quieter side of the city but near to all sights. Huge room, comfy bed (also huge!), spotlessly cleaned every day. Excellent breakfast and complimentary cakes/drinks. We loved going to sleep with the owls hooting and waking up to bird song. There are lovely terraces to sit and admire the private gardens. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. It was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

Beautiful terrasse with view onto the garden Could be a bit more taken care of

Amazing location, a bit out of main part of town but not far - enough to be nice and peaceful. Part of an historic Palazzo, it really has the wow factor. Gardens are amazing to sit and view with a glass of wine. Nothing really! Maybe a dining option but there are so many good local restaurants that it’s not a problem!

A perfect hotel!

The surroundings were very grand, being part of a privately owned palazzo, with a beautiful first floor terrace looking over extensive gardens. The staff at Ad Astra are very helpful and friendly. They speak fluent English and made us feel very welcome. They were happy to help with tourist information, advice and restaurant recommendations and even reservations. We stayed in the annex on the ground floor, where we found noise from the road (loud voices and vehicles ) woke us several times during the small hours of the night.

Excellent beds & beautiful surroundings next to the best restaurants, helpful staff Sewage smell, having to change rooms because of an untimely leak, not being able to walk freely in the gardens & the written notices everywhere were a bit joyless
