Comfortable beds with lamps on each of them, kind staff members Needs lots of maintenance, too far from everything. On my first night I was sleeping and then a guy arrived around 1 am, he took the bed right next to me, as soon as he arrived he went to the restroom to vomit, then he went back to his bed and vomit on it, on the floor everywhere all night long every 5 or 10 minutes. I couldn't sleep at all. Around 7 am he was still vomiting next to his bed. I ask the staff if I can be moved to other room and I explained why, staff members told me he was not a guest he was just watching soccer with them and they gave him a bed, they new something was wrong with him and let him in without reservation. For what I heard this guy was vomiting for the last 4 days, I guess he got some kind of bacteria or infection. When he went to to kitchen to have breakfast he vomited on the kitchen sink too. I went to the Iguazu Falls, when I came back his bed was empty but the smell of vomit was extremely strong. One of the staff members moved me to other room so finally I managed to have some rest. I gave this review so low because is completely unacceptable to get friends in that state putting your guests on danger of getting an infection or some kind of disease. I suggested to disinfect his bed, is super irresponsible not to clean properly, the floor next to his bed still had vomit on it. The worst experience I ever had in a hostel. If wasn't for that experience probably I would give the hostel a 6.

It's good just for one night, the breakfast was simple

Nothing. The pictures and descriptions online are a complete lie. The place is falling apart. Literally holes in the walls and ceilings, black mold everywhere. It’s unsafe. Just look at the pictures of the ceiling above my bed. Full of black mold.

Staff were amazingky kind, the place is even more beautiful, spacious and comfy than in the pictures. Room partners were respectfull and quiet. We only stayed for one night so we didnt get to experience the "hostel vibe" of connecting with others, but i guess with some more time that would happen. The breakfast was bread, cheese, jam, butter, jelly and some infusions like coffee, tea, milk. It wasn't a lot, but perfect for the price. Location is far from the center, not walking distance if you are short in time or wanna go out at night. There's a huge supermarket nearby and ton of small street fast food spots.

The ac only works between 21:15 and 07:15 which is kind of weird considering how hot it is in the summer.. a bit disrespectful for the guests

Welcoming staff, warm blanket as the a/c was on all nice was amazing to have. Glad for non-alcohol approach. The bathroom situation. Shower didn't have any hooks to hold clothes dry while the water was running. No mirror by a sink, which didn't have a door. Not a big problem per se but as someone who came in late and left early during my whole stay, l felt uncomfortable to be so loud when others were sleeping so l brushed my teeth in a kitchen or a foyer restroom.

Good location, nice spacious building, good base to visit the falls on both sides of the border Very limited breakfast (bread and cheese), a little bit run down, could be improved with some very basic touches like locks repaired on bathroom doors, hand soap in the bathrooms etc. Overall still not bad.

A lovely hostel about 10 mins walk away from the main road. Had a lovely atmosphere with a nice bar and cheap drinks, and nice communal areas for relaxing. Lots of helpful information about getting to the falls, doing laundry, going to paraguay, etc

The whole vibe at the hostel is amazing. It has a resort look and feel, while its a hostel with dorm beds to share with co-travelers. The paintings on the walls, huge verandah with wooden benches/chairs, decent breakfast, on-site vending machine with drinks/beverages, friendly staff, a swimming pool, and a perfect location for various activities around Foz. The AC is switched on only from 9pm- 9am. Brazil is humid and hot through out the year during mornings and there is no table fan or ceiling fan to beat the heat. Nor does wind/breeze is to be relied upon.

Hostel Poesia is a well located hostel in Foz do Iguacu. I walked from here to a bus stop to catch the public bus to Iguazu Falls brazilian side. (You can see the directions I took from the hostel on QZ Tours Youtube) it is around a 10 minute walk. The hostel was very big and there were not many mosquitos. When I arrived, my locker was locked. Meaning I couldn't store my stuff safely. The following day, they said they couldn't open it so I had to store my bag in the office. Then while I was at the iguazu falls, it rained. I got a whatsapp from the hostel to say the bed i got put in was incorrect, and I had to move because of the rain. I then realised the previous night I slept under a damp patch in the ceiling in a bunk bed. I had to move bed with the same bedding. Also only one staff member who was not always available spoke engish. But this is not a criticism. I was also waiting at reception when two other staff members were kissing whilst I was stood there for around 20 seconds waiting before I could speak to them. The location was good and the hostel was clean. The lock on one of two shared showers didn't work. Most importantly, i specifically asked what the breakfast was before booking. They said it would include fruit. This was important as I have intolerances, which i also stated to them. When i was there, there was just bread, margarine and banana paste. This was disappointing and there was also noone at breakfast to ask for help.

The A/C is in the bedrooms being turned on, which is controlled to be on ONLY between 9pm - 9am. Easy access in/out of the hostel. They advertise A/C; however, the A/C is in the bedrooms only and is turned on ONLY between 9pm - 9am. Everything is open-air and hot during the day in the summer heat. Although there is no smoking inside, just outside the open windows and doors are smokers. Bathroom showers are OK, but nothing to store your toiletries on.
