Property was under renovation and was not very clean and construction equipment was just sitting around

The hotel is under renovation so I experienced a very damp musky smell in the room.

The location of this hotel is great! We spent only one night so we didn’t take advantage of lots of the amenities. The staff was really great every time we interacted. Will stay here again.

Exceptional

The desk staff were very nice. The location was convenient. It was noisy. To further complicate matters, between 7:30-8 am, some workers were banging on doors and shouting out in the hallways. It may have been some sort of fire inspection of sorts…but typical- not an emergency. They knocked on our doors and woke us. Our checkout was not until 11 am! Horrible!! Also, breakfast is NOT included and prices for food were very high.

This is a very nice, well maintained hotel. My family and I have stayed here on multiple occasions and we keep coming back whenever we stay in Fredericksburg.

Great location and we like that area. Our air conditioning in the room was less that acceptable. We did report it but they could not fix it entirely. The staff did a good job of accommodating the issue but it was not fixed.

Exceptional

The property is excellent; the facilities are excellent BUT some of the staff need training in hospitality especially for an exceptional property in a historic area. I have been twice in the last 3 weeks due to work, and it was the same both times. Both times, I had multiple experiences at the front desk where staff didn't even look up from what they were doing and said, "Can I help you?" with exasperated facial expressions that appeared as if I was an annoyance or chore. If this were an economy hotel I wouldn't think twice about it, but since this is a premium hotel, in a premium area I would expect just a bit more. In totality this property is wonderful and many of the staff were as well, the bar staff, the housekeeping staff etc...but the folks behind the counter, the face of the Hotel...not so much. This may seem picky, but I have the highest respect for the Marriott brand and travel around the world I pick this brand for the experience, and this was simply a mismatch.

Stayed one night for a girls getaway and it was perfect. Great location, cute little bar where we could sip cocktails and catch up, and quaint area for lunch and shopping.
