Homewood Suites by Hilton Gainesville

Love this property is pet friendly! The room was clean and everything worked, including the AC!! Had to borrow an induction cooktop from the front desk as we stayed for a week. would stay again.

Location was as expected. We needed to be close to our son who was moving in for college, and it was perfect. Staff was terrible, we had several issues and Unfortunately, the staff were unable or unwilling to help with any of the issues we experienced during our stay. First, when we arrived, we discovered that our room had only one full-size bed, rather than the queen or two queen beds we expected. When we asked the front desk for help, instead of offering alternatives, checking whether another room was available, or even suggesting that we cancel the remainder of our reservation and rebook directly with the hotel, the employee simply kept repeating, “I can’t do anything.” She seemed to have no idea how to handle the situation. Since switching hotels at that point would have been very complicated for our family, we decided to stay. The following day, there was a water emergency and the water was shut off for approximately three hours. We understand that emergencies happen and that this was probably outside the hotel’s control. However, when we asked for information about how long the repair might take, the only response from the front desk was, “I’m sorry, maybe by 8 p.m. we’ll get it back.” Again, there was very little communication or effort to assist guests affected by the situation. That night, the guests in the room directly above us were extremely noisy. There was constant running and stomping, and we were unable to sleep. The noise continued into the morning. At around 9 a.m., I finally called the front desk and politely asked if they could contact the guests upstairs and ask them to keep the noise down. I was shocked when the employee told me that “it would be unprofessional” for her to call them and ask them to stop. The stomping continued until those guests checked out. Housekeeping was another issue. We were told the room would be cleaned every other day, but no housekeeping service was provided during our stay. The cleanliness of the room upon arrival was also disappointing.

The breakfast was decent, the room was clean and spacious, the staff was awesome, and the amenities were good. Also, in a very convenient location for grocery or any other shopping needs.

My family and I had an excellent stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Gainesville while visiting for my daughter’s graduation from the University of Florida. The staff were friendly, professional, and very responsive. The hotel was clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. I had two separate bookings during our stay. One night, around 1:00 a.m., our toilet became clogged. My wife contacted the front desk, and the staff resolved the issue in less than five minutes. That level of responsiveness, especially in the middle of the night, was very impressive. This was not my first stay at Homewood Suites, and overall, I have always had a positive experience. However, there is room for improvement, particularly with the breakfast. The selection was not a very typical of an American hotel breakfast, and on one morning there was so little available that we decided to go out and find breakfast elsewhere. Overall, I would rate my stay 4.5 out of 5 stars. The cleanliness, spacious rooms, excellent staff, and quick response to our needs made this a very good experience. With some improvement to the breakfast options, it could easily be an exceptional stay.

Wish the bathroom was equipped with a walk in shower in lieu of a bath tub. The older we become the more difficult it is to travel and the little things matter so much (walk in shower, high rise commodes, convenient access to amenities, etc).

The staff was very helpful. The.suite was great, clean, and well-maintained.

Room was clean and spacious with all needed amenities.

Breakfast was good. Kitchen well equipped. Bed and linens were clean. Quiet room. Bathroom floor not very clean.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything went well. The employees were friendly. The accommodations were perfect. The location is near everything you need. Definitely would stay there again.

Computers non-functioning…I felt sorry for the staff trying to operate efficiently without normal technology up and running.

The room felt like home away from home, it was comfortable, convenient, the location, the service, the entire staff from Destiny at the front desk who checked me in along with the manager all was managed very well, clean, it was pleasantly, a wonderful bedroom suite to enjoy N/A
