Ultimo Mulino Wellness Country Hotel
About Ultimo Mulino Wellness Country Hotel
Located in Gaiole in Chianti, the ‘most beautiful place to live’ according to Forbes magazine, Ultimo Mulino lives up to this reputation. Set in an old mill, restored using original stonework, it provides scenic views over the Tuscan hills. Offering a casual yet elegant atmosphere, guests will enjoy the hotel’s panoramic pool or the outdoor patios. In winter you can drink local wines in the hotel’s lobby, fitted with exposed wooden beams and terracotta floors. Rooms at Ultimo Mulino combine the rustic feel with modern amenities. Those include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioning and an private bathroom with spa bath. Specialties from Tuscany’s culinary tradition are offered at the hotel’s restaurant, still prepared following old-time recipes. The friendly staff can suggest wine routes and walking itineraries within the Chianti Area. We have just opened a new area 2625 feet from Reception called 'Borgo Le Noci'! New rooms, equipped with the most modern comforts. Both areas are served by an outdoor swimming pool with a view of the hills and a wine bar, guaranteeing maximum relaxation and service. Breakfast will be held in both areas from 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. where the light lunch will also be served for total relaxation. The Ultimo Mulino Restaurant will be available every evening in the Reception area, characteristic menu and a renowned wine list. We recommend making a reservation. License Number(s): 052013ALB0006

Amazing villa, amazing service, even better dinner and wine!

The AC wasn't activated yet and our room would get rather stuffy even though the weather was cool. We had room 3 which would be noisy when people would sit in the seating area until 1am
-
A historic place with a romantic aura. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good The pool water was still very cold due to the season
-
The views, the room was great! Except didn’t have an iron or steamer. That I will recommend them to add.
-
The view incredible!

No A/C which hotel can not help. I enjoyed opening windows at night but was not completely comfortable until I figured out turning heat off in bathroom. First night I heard people working outside at 2-3 AM and woke me up. Then at 6-7 AM cigarette smoke wafted into my room.

Beautiful property. Running stream from my window. Beautiful pool sauna and hot tub. Like a little castle inside historic building. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the property. Except there is no busses to take you into Sienna only school bus for kids. Next time I will rent a car.

Overall our experience was wonderful. Our room was fantastic. The morning breakfast was generous and the homemade cakes were beyond delicious. The view from the pool was beautiful. Our stay was quiet & restful. We booked our stay for 3 nights. Unfortunately we didn't work our travel plans fully. We were traveling from Cinque Terre. We did not realize how difficult and costly it would be to get there without renting a car. So we gave up a night to travel with friends. When we arrived at the hotel there was no mention to credit or refund and of course we accepted our part. BUT.... as we were bringing in our luggage David (hotel manager) slammed his cars hatchback on my back (trust me I saw stars) & he acted like nothing happened without even an apology.

Very unique building. The food was great. The breakfast spread was one of the best in Italy! The mattress was a bit hard but ok. The biting flys at the pool, and the pool was cold.
-
This hotel is absolutely stunning! The host were gracious and helpful throughout our visit. The breakfast was amazing and we were close to many scenic locations and shopping.
-
Very clean. Wonderful staff especially Nozila, who was so generous with her assistance and information and insights. The views from the rooms were stunning. We had a very minor issue positioning the overhead shower, but that was more of a slight inconvenience.

Beautiful location, spacious room and excellent breakfast. Staff was very friendly.
-
rooms were very small and you could hear the neighbors.

It was absolutely beautiful! The property, the rooms, everything about it was exceptional. Friendly and helpful staff who treated us like family instead of guests. The outdoor dining was in a gorgeous setting with excellent food, wine and service! Nothing!

Breakfast was great, as was dinner. Anton and Giacomo were very friendly and helpful. The pool and the property overall is beautiful.

The food and wine were superb

Extremely friendly staff, really exceptional reception. Incredible - and I mean incredible - infinity pool and view. Really good breakfast, everything you need. Nice situated in hillside, 8 min car ride to next small village with good restaurants. Drinks by pool which they offer and bring were way overcharged, more expensive than most high class restaurants (6e small beer, 7e ordinary house wine). If you know (better than us) it's easy to avoud and just drink your own. Unfortunately we had very noisy neighbors next to our room who we heard long into the night despite ear plugs, rooms are not that well insulated in terms of sound. Also someone was smoking downstairs outside entrance (below our room no1) every night which was annoying.
-
Good location to lots of winery’s! Comfortable rooms. Staff super friendly and helpful Can be noisy in the rooms if people downstairs in the breakfast area. Warm rooms in April and no aircon can be used
