We had a wonderful stay! The property has great vibes, there was a songwriter convention happening there so fabulous music was being made both inside and at the welcoming front entryway, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent. They even gave us a complimentary sweet treat at checkout. We'll be back again next year!

You cannot beat quaint in the Smokies anywhere else. History and character as it was in a time of all else the same.

This was our second stay here as we visit the area every other year. Each time has been awesome. The entire staff is welcoming and pleasant and the rooms are always clean.

The old time feel of an original hotel. Bed and pillows were just ok for 2 nights. I don't think for a longer stay, we would have gotten a comfy sleep.

Despite a great central location to downtown gatlinburg and friendly staff, I would not recommend staying here. We travel very frequently and this was our first encounter with bedbugs. The room itself was not very clean. What appeared to be a used hand towel was hanging in the bathroom (makeup and some type of blue stain on it). There was either blood or coffee stains on the mattress pad. When we returned to our room for the evening and settled in bed we found live bedbugs crawling on the bed with us. We immediately took photos and captured one to take to the front desk to confirm the bedbugs. Front desk confirmed and offered us a new room, which we refused. We packed up and left. The hotel did allow us a full refund.

Great location! Breakfast was fantastic and the front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Love the rocking chairs on the balcony and front porch. We are repeat guests and brought a cooler since there are no fridges in the rooms. We will be back next year! Housekeeping only made our bed 1 of the 4 days. Left the new towels in a stack on the corner of the sink. And left a wet wash cloth in the bottom of the shower. Not a huge deal but thought it was worth mentioning. Did not have these issues on previous visit. Also the evening security guard made us feel like we were trespassing because our parking tag was not in the proper place. It would not stay on the rear view mirror so we held it up to show him. He refused to open the gate and lectured us about keeping it visible on the dashboard.

The breakfast was excellent everyday and a nice perk. The history of it alone was so impressive. So glad we chose this little gem in the smokies for our vacation we will definitely stay again!!! I honestly can’t think of anything

The location was great for walking around Gatlinburg. The view from one window was to a a stairwell and the other ti a parking lot and backside of buildings. Also, the lobby smelled like a sewer.
-
We loved the historic nature of the hotel also sitting outside on the rocking chairs in the evening was nice. They have to have the coolest pool view we loved watching the sky lift up to the bridge.
-
Property is well maintained however, it's a historic property so looks run down. Staff is excellent.
