Good service for dinner and breakfast. No

I'm not usually a fan of super involved service (like being served food at the room and having the car parked by staff/greeted at the entrance) but this was a great experience. I was especially happy that my parents and brother had a great time. The room was very big with a great view and the beds were comfy and I liked the mix of modern + traditional Japanese room style. The on-site sento was a nice touch.

Great facilities, wonderful view at the open air spa of the mountains, private onsen was nice too. The meals were delicious Wonderful experience would absolutely book sarsara again!

Facilities are too old, very limited amenities, inconvenient between buildings, uncomfortable pillows

Sasara was a lovely stay. They have a free taxi from and too the train station, but it was only a 15 min walk. The classic tatami room was clean, large enough for two adults and one teenager, and the futons on the floor were comfy. The balcony with the soaking tub was comfortable and our room attendant walked us through how to use it to bring up the hot spring water. The amenities bags had everything we needed, yukata robes provided were comfy, and the onsen was great and our skin felt so smooth afterwards. The food was a delicious experience and our attendant was wonderful walking us through each dish! The rice hull pillows with the futons were difficult and uncomfortable for at least two members of our group to use so ask attendants right away for different pillows if you think you'll need them. The rooms with a soaking tub on the balcony have no shower/tub facilities inside the room. The only option to shower in our room was outside our room on the private balcony (there is a privacy screen on the balcony to block the city view in and the room has curtains to separate that area from view but would be very difficult in cold weather to shower outside).

The bathhouse on the roof was a great experience, as was sleeping on traditional mattresses on the tatami mats. Also enjoyed the Japanese pajamas that were provided. We mistakenly didn’t mark the ages of our children in the booking, and therefore were not even given sheets for them even though we paid an additional fee for their being in the room.

Our private family breakfast neatly arranged and beautifully presented. Food delicious and tasty. Friendly and attentive staff. Relaxing and soaking in the hot onsen was the highlight of my stay.

Very good dinners, beautifully presented and delicious. Warm welcome and good service from all the staff. The room is big and clean. The bed is very comfortable. The Onsen is very good. They also have free parking. We would prefer to have dinner sitting up at a higher table.
