Great location, spacy room, good breakfast. bad smell in the room and the surrounding, batheroom without any closets, cussins very thin and we could hear all what happened in the other rooms. Rooms could have a better cleaning. Very small TV and far from the bed.

easy check-in. Convenient location to the historic district. The Tram stop is just around the corner. The hotel foyer oozes historic charm. The breakfast was very good! No elevator! We had a 3rd floor room which had a tiny corner shower. The sitting area of the room was a nice bonus, but the chairs are very old and with stained fabric - they need a refresh.

The breakfast was very complete, the location was great, lots of (tiny) windows for a good aircirculation! The showersink left a strong smell which was only to be stopped temporarily by running water through; there were quite some musquito's, and a lot of traces from other people's fights with them too

The hotel decorations look really great and oldish. But it comes with a price (no elevator, no ac). The location is a little bit far from the centre (20 minutes walking), so for some people it could be an issue.

Breakfast was extensive There was a slight odour in the bathroom

Hotel is beautiful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The bed was a little too worn/soft for our liking!

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Great location in a beautiful city. All good!

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

No airconditioning in the room and neither a fan. They didn't hadn't any, so the first 2 nights was horrible. And also no elevators. Faucet was broken and the water dripping all night, als well as the toilet

There was nothing to like, I was gone all day Everything. I had a room at the 3rd floor and there's no elevator.

I liked the building, especially the reception area and the breakfast room. Bathroom would need refurbishment.

  • Engine customer May 2025

Quiet but very ease to walk to the old town or take a tram or bus. Delightfully old building, creaking floorboards, but definitely not a "could be anywhere" hotel. Plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast. Not a full range of toiletries in the bathroom.

Very friendly and professional people at the Reception desk. Nice garden.

  • Engine customer May 2025

The old fashioned style. The location for the centre. Good breakfast.

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

Breakfast was amazing! Bed was too low and not comfortable. There is no fridge and no lift and, most importantly, the curtains didn’t close all the way. I barely got any sleep.

We were unexpectedly upgraded to a very big room which was maybe a bit old fashioned but so charming and nice, big bathroom with shower and bubble bath.. The breakfast is exceptional, variety and quantity, excellent and fresh some repair in the room (plinth)

    Really charming place! Great breakfast!

Just be aware that there is no elevator.

Brilliant breakfasts and nice large rooms. Very characterful building. Creaky floors...very loud.

The chap at reception was responsive to the problems I encountered (see below) e.g. getting the shower fixed the day after I complained. There is a bus and tram stop just at the end of the road so it's easy to get around. Breakfast was very good for me but not big range of hot options if that is what you prefer. Giant bed. Contents of another room's toilet ended up in mine! Pretty unpleasant and I'm not sure what is wrong with their plumbing to cause that. After I complained the chap at reception did put some extra product down in the other rooms which made the situation better in the final couple of days. Shower unbearably hot - this was fixed with a new temperature regulator the next day and I was allowed to use the shower of an unoccupied room instead. Small flush didn't work on my toilet (nor in the unoccupied room either). If you have a front room, be aware the road outside, while not busy at all, is cobbled so when cars drive past it's pretty loud - I'd recommend earplugs. General feeling of the upstairs having seen better days and somewhat unloved: rotting skirting boards, very creaky floorboards, fire escape directions on the wrong door, things like that.

The hotel is conveniently situated. I loved the interior, which was the main reason why I booked it. However, the hotel is not very well maintained. The plants need some love. The room could be cleaner and was antique smell to it. The curtains were a bit outdated, and if they are down, the heating doesn't get to the room. Overall, a very stylish place, small adjustments have the potential to make it even better.
