The location was a 10 minute walk to the center of town and about 14 mins to the train station. Our room (the Andy Warhol room) was enormous with a little table and 2 chairs in the enclosed balcony. It had a colorful funky vibe and the bathroom was modern. The building itself is a work in progress by the owner so the entrance are is pretty shabby. The "mood" lighting in the room and the tiny lamps made it very dim and impossible to read in the evening. No TV. There were extra services available including custom cocktails and the host could do tasteful videos of you and your partner having sex. Terrible pillows and a bit of a weird vibe.

The noise and sound from the roof and ground which couldn't allow me to sleep well

Shows the reality of 1 man trying to run a hotel by himself - the standards slowly dropped over the years: Andy Warhol room -Forced to pay tourist tax in cash -Bedsheet set hasn’t been replaced in years, thin and scratchy (ended up having to buy our own set so we could sleep) -Pillows are disgusting, with the pillowcase not covering the yellow pillow itself -Little stains everywhere that show only base furniture is cleaned between patrons -Bathroom grout is pink with bacteria and leaks water through the shower along the floor -the flight of stairs to get up to rooms has lights off at night, requiring a flashlight -Owner/someone unsupervised hosted a full scale party late into the night like it’s a hostel and not a hotel (cigarette smell wafting into our room) Overall it was clearly done with artistic intentions a decade ago, but has since become a barely maintained airbnb - paying hotel prices for maybe 50% of the hotel standard is just not something you want to risk when traveling to a new city, and after being stuck here for 4 nights, I advice you don’t

Leonard is a very nice, helpful and interesting guy! Room is spacious and artistic with nice decorations (depending on which you book). The location of the place is awesome. Walking distance to everything. Parking available with 17€/day. Common kitchen, although well equipped, was not so clean as well as the room.

It was excellent

Location The bed cover and towels needs proper washing. The couch has stains and the room we were staying for 13 nights does not have TV and electric kettle.

I really enjoyed my 4-night stay here. The location is excellent. Very close to the centre and a 15 minute walk to the Gent-Dampoort train station. Tons of great restaurants, coffee shops and lots to do in the area. The room was very clean and comfortable, the host was very nice and helpful. I'd highly recommend this place.

Close to everything, friendly host

Very cool and quirky place in a great location for seeing sites in Ghent. The place has personality, and the owner has put a lot of effort into making that happen. Recommended.

Room has no aircon and no fans, it was impossible to sleep and it was not even that hot outside. We opened the windows, but the noise from the cars and drunk people passing by was horrible. And the mosquitos.. we killed 8 in one night. I had so many bites I don't know if the mattress had bugs or the mosquitos were so hungry. We had 2 nights and had to run to another room for the second one, the host did not help us at all and even after talking kept the money from the second night. Do not stay here unless you want to ruin your visit to this awesome city and country.

Room style was great,a lot of thought had gone into it. Events look like they'd be fun. I'm not one to be too picky about clean, I go to dirty Berlin raves, stay in hostels and hiking huts. This was oppressively dirty. The walls haven't been cleaned in probably since the owner bought in 2018, despite clearly a lot of parties etc. there, there's stains everywhere. When I arrived, the toilet hadn't been cleaned, it had poop and pubes all over - the message back said they "forgot." The owner is embarrassing himself here, show some respect for yourself, your guests, and your artsy community space. Would be cool to stay there during an event but otherwise I don't think I could really recommend. Also could be cool to foster more community with the guests, only ever said hi to any other person in passing, as we were all on the way to/from something else. Last note, the windows had to be open as it was warm, got absolutely eaten by mosquitoes. I killed 8 but there were more. Kept me up all night. Probably need a screen or something.

Large "Chanel" bedroom+bathroom, comfortable bed, nice decor, sufficient supplies for toiletries and coffee/tea, convenient location Risky stairs would be the only downside in the building that is apparently under construction, so there may be a few broken tiles on the ground floor too.

Very good location and welcoming owner! The room (especially toilet) smelled of cigarette. All the sounds from the stairwell could be heard in the room.

great rooms (we had all rooms on the upper floor), bathrooms were excellent (modern design with toiletries included), clean and large rooms, private parking inside the property yard (extra fee), easy communication with owner we had to take the stairs to reach our rooms (no elevator), parking was near a wall and we had a neighbor complain that those are not parking places (where we parked) and he could have called the police to have our cars town away
