Kawi Resort A Spiritual Sanctuary to Escape

Great service! Very helpful staff and great customer care! Wish there is an elevator for bottom floor. The bottom floor of the valley views would be nice if an elevator installed.

Nice Location Could have been cleaner and the Food was Not good in our opinion.

Very nice resort. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. It takes 30 minutes to get to the attractions in the area. Got food poisoning from their restaurant and they did not seem to care at the resort.

The place is very calm and serene overlooking the forest. Friendly staff and values interns/trainees. Thank you to Dwi (I hope the name is correct) from the reception, Rilyani the trainee from F&B, Apri from Spa, and thank you so much to Desak for the amazing Yoga Class. I recommend booking the Yoga Session/Class from her. The bathtub is not cleaned/brushed properly. They should maintain the toilet clean and hygienic as the shower floors have green molds in it. The property should install bath towel rack or hooks inside the toilet and there’s none, I have to improvise and use the hangers instead which is inconvenient.

The private pool villa was massive and clean. The staff were excellent and tried to accommodate all our needs. The food needs a lot of improvement. Breakfast portions were small and not tasty ! The pillows in the rooms on the beds were awful, they just sank and never came back up ! The steps all round the resort are very high, smaller steps would be easier to walk on. In the restaurant, there in a U shaped buffet bar with a table cloth which took up half the restaurant and it was very awkward having to walk around the table as at times I felt I was going to fall, it was on the complete edge. The buffet bar was not used once the whole time during our stay, so not sure why it is even there.

Loud construction that occurred throughout the day made it hard to relax at the pool. Mould in the rooms made it feel dirty. The hotel had a rule about not renting scooters which was inconvenient due to the location and seems a little strange. Also the yoga was extremely overpriced which was frustrating due to the isolated nature of the resort and the amount of reasonably priced yoga we could have attended in town.

The property was nice, although a bit far out of town, 20 minute taxi ride into central ubud with not much to do within walking distance of the hotel. The view of the rice fields and valley were quite lovely and the plants and gardens were nice. Staff were exceptionally lovely as all Balinese people are. Absolutely no complaints there they were so sweet to our baby and very kind and accommodating. I have nothing negative to say about the staff at all! It’s small, it’s seems a lot bigger online. But it’s very small actually, definitely not the size of a ‘resort’ you would be able to spend the whole day at. 1 regular pool which was quite small and one deeper plunge type pool that seemed unused. Strong sewer smell by the restaurant leading down into the staff area which you could smell sometimes while eating. Exposed pipes and plumping running along in places, missing chunks of stone and wall in lots of places and just general run-down-ness. We opted for the nicest villa with private pool and they had a good special going at the time of booking, and we can understand why it was on special now. Room was very dingy, shower was outside and falling apart, tiles were cracked and had paint and mortar on them everywhere, chipping paint and dirt in the corners of the room. Pool was so cold it was neigh unusable even in the 30+ degree days, and was too deep past the steps to get in for a normal person to stand up in. The “villas” were also the first three rooms DIRECTLY next to reception, and with the paper thin walls that means we heard every single phone ring at all hours of the day and night. Us, and our 9 month old baby were woken up almost every night at all hours of the night and morning by people talking in the parking lot by reception and the staff coming in and out of the staff area (located directly across from our door) and as well as the phone going off and scooters coming in and out constantly. I reckon the other rooms would not have had this problem as they were on the far side of the hotel, but you would think paying $200AUD/ night (HALF OFF) would mean that you wouldn’t be woken up constantly while you were trying to sleep. Overall, I don’t think this hotel is bad, but I definitely wasn’t impressed and definitely do not think it was worth nearly what we paid for it. We will not be staying here again.

it can have some upgrades, but the smart tv was good touch, kids enjoy the stay. they like the swimming pool. ??

the pools room had so many cracks on walls, bathroom needs a good upgrade and cleanse

the hotel setup is bringing you close to nature cold water in the swimming pool, ants, bugs, worms, bugs etc. in the outdoor shower and pool area

We got the rooms just next to the pool which was really well located, peaceful and staff was very very co-operative incl. they agreed to keep our luggage for a day especially when they don't have such big store room leaves a msg their willingness to support the customer. Everything was good however as there is always a scope of improvement therefore we would suggest little more variety in food. Especially now a days a lot of INDIANS travelling so some options for them (INCL. VEGETARIAN) will really help to keep everyone happy.

Beautifully situated and styled

The location was perfect for those looking for a quieter experience, amazing jungle views from all the rooms. The restaurant was delicious and well priced. All the staff were attentive, helpful and very kind. In house spa is a bonus. Originally we booked the deluxe room, which was a hotel-like room in the underneath of the property, it was quite damp and worse for wear, with slight cracks in the walls and some moulding in the bathroom and wall corners, it wasn’t totally horrible and is expected to have issues like this in this wet region but due my my personal health issues it was to risky for our long stay, The staff were incredibly accommodating and provided us with an upgrade to the suites which were amazing, very clean and well maintained. So I would absolutely recommend the suite villas for this hotel.

The food is excellent and the ambience as well. We tried almost everything possible in our 3 days stay and must say it is value for the money.
