Lutwala Dive and Bungalows

Location Do yourself a favour and read all the other negative reviews before booking, we could have avoided all the issues they mentioned

The property is in the best location on the island for families, the beach is right out front and it’s one of the nicest places to swim. We swam with turtles right out front The air con doesn’t work that great in the day but was fine at night which was good. It’s very ‘islandly’ obviously, so don’t expect 5 star. There are some smells occasionally from different rooms but overall the villa was great for us

Beach-we saw turtles everyday!! Sometimes right at the shore. Sometimes over the sea grass and always a short snorkel away. Saw a few snowflake ells as well. The sea is full of beautiful fish and colorful coral. Sunset-over the volcano on Bali is steps away on the beach to the left. Staff-great and as accommodating as they could be. Location-on the beach! loungers and tables available to use 24/7. Diving-we did not dive with Lutwala but the dive boat is steps away on the beach. Transportation-you can circle the island easily. We highly recommend to rent a bike during your stay. Food-great local cooks. Beach-trash (plastic) washed up with each tide on many of the beaches and Lutwala would benefit by sweeping it regularly. Not bad enough to dter us from using the beach. AS a good tourist we should take part in cleaningup ouor own environment too MUCH more trash noted on Bali. Accommodations -the rooms could use an update and some fixing. Open air bathrooms does mean open air so expect mosquitos. -Pipes shoild be sealed better in the bathrooms such as around the toilet pip as to lessen the "open air". -Same for the drainage from the shower. -Downstairs rooms without a barrier from the shower so entire bathroom floor was wet. -Some doors didn't fully seal.

Great place to stay with an on sight dive center. The staff is very nice and the property has lots of nice animals. Would stay again!

The location is great as it’s nice and quiet. Now where to hang your clothes.

Our bathroom had a septic tank issue and the smell was too awful. We had to keep the door to the bathroom closed all the time. It was such a pity we had to deal with this as we loved the place

The location is fantastic for snorkeling right off the beach. On the "quiet" side of Trawangan. Good price-quality relationship. The animal company. Plenty of them. Noisy at night. Some machine kept whirring and became annoying. Not the most friendly staff, except for 2 members, which is strange in Indonesia in general. Breakfast is below par. Pool is basically chlorine with a bit of water. Fortunately, the ocean is at your door.

The staff are all lovely and chatty, The the breakfast and the food is from tipsy goat is great. Great size toddler cot! The bathroom floor wasn't too clean and every time we had a shower little worms type bugs would come out the floor. Anything we left in the bathroom smelt damp and couldn't re use.

Diving was fabulous Room service was good. Breakfast was good but pretty much the same thing every day;scramble egg bread butter jam fruits and pancake . Bar was great. Diagnosed dengue after staying in five nights. A lot of mosquitoes . A detailed clean of bathroom would be nice . Body wash was mixed with water.

I had a wonderful fortnight at Lutwala Bungalows & Private Villa and literally did not want to leave. My bungalow was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous garden view, enjoyed from the balcony. I found all staff exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location in the north of Gili Trawangan meant I was easily able to wander to and from the busier eastern side if the mood took me and return home to Lutwala. The Tipsy Goat bar at Lutwala has a really great vibe and is well-priced. The food on offer, whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, is delicious! Being an animal-lover, the cats, birds, horses and the resident goat, Giselle, added to my experience. I made good use of the 3 pools available as well as the beach a few metres from the premises. I didn't dive on this occasional but when I return, which I certainly will, I look forward to learning and will have no hesitation in trusting the dive instructors at Lutwala. I have left Lutwala Bungalows and Private Villa with very fond memories and having made new friendships :) Thanks guys! Leaving!

The staff was top notch. They were able to assist with every request we asked of them. They helped set up transportation, coordinate bike rentals, the food was really tasty. The grounds has animals that are great for kids to see and interact with during our stay. I also was able to dive with my daughter's (8 & 11) within their pools, which my kids loved. Most importantly everyone there was SUPER friendly. Definitely will visit again when back in Asia. breakfast was a bit simple however still tasted great.

Quiet location, but close enough to walk to local facilities Booked Last minute so presumed we got a bargain, but still don’t feel it was worth a high price tag, Villa needed seriously updating. The door didn’t lock but we were told that was acceptable because we have locks on our bedroom doors and we were told it was a safe area so we shouldn’t really make fuss It almost felt like the stairs were going to collapse when he walked up them , when you walked across the bedroom it shook the bed , showers very rusty. Bathroom sink hanging off the wall , States free tea and coffee but that’s if you can find a machine that has water in I asked for it to be topped up but it was empty for three days, on the first day we told the cleaners to come back because we’re all in bed. They never came again for the next five days, even though I asked for the bins to be emptied.

Great and funny staff, cold swimming pool during hot days was amazing. Easy but fine breakfast bufet. Quiet location close to sunset beach and crowed harbor. Everything what you need is there. Win bonus, it´s diving center inside.
