MAJO Private Villas

For the first time during any of our stays, we experienced a serious issue involving the loss of $300 that I had kept in my luggage for tipping purposes, as we typically pay for everything else by card. We reported the matter to management, but it did not appear that a thorough investigation was conducted. Instead, we were offered a $93 refund as a service recovery gesture. While the gesture was appreciated, it did not address the actual concern. Given that Majo is a relatively small property with a limited number of employees, I believe it should have been possible to investigate the matter more thoroughly to determine what happened and, more importantly, prevent similar incidents from affecting future guests. This situation significantly impacted our stay, particularly because I was unable to provide tips to the many wonderful staff members who genuinely deserved recognition for their efforts. Another disappointing experience involved a surprise champagne arrangement that I had specifically organized for my boyfriend’s arrival. Prior to our stay, I provided detailed instructions, including the exact location where the champagne should be placed in the villa to ensure it remained a surprise. However, when we arrived the waiter approached my boyfriend directly and asked him where he would like it placed. This completely ruined the surprise and demonstrated a clear lack of communication and attention to detail between team members. It was particularly disappointing given that all the necessary information had already been provided in advance. What was equally disappointing was the noticeable decline in service and personalization compared to previous years.

We absolutely loved our stay! The privacy of the villa was incredible, and having the bicycles provided made it so easy and fun to explore the island. The breakfasts every morning were delicious. What truly stood out was the exceptional staff; they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. One of them even made an effort to speak some Spanish with us, which was such a cute and thoughtful gesture that showed how much they care about providing top-notch service The only minor issue was the air conditioning. It felt a bit weak and didn't cool down the room as much as we would have liked, so it got a little warm during the nights

The staff were great 1. The location was bad and hard to get to it 2. The air conditioning was bad and barely cooling the room 3. We could hear our neighbors Villas clearly in our room 4. The Villas was not similar as the photos advertised Overall we didn’t feel comfortable staying there

The staffs were so friendly. It is a nice private villa and they offer free bicycles. The location is also good. I love their breakfasts.

Our stay at Majo is unforgettable! All the staff was so warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful. We were also welcomed with a fantastic homemade drink on arrival, which I still find myself thinking about. I genuinely miss it! They even assisted us in renting an e-bike, which made exploring so much easier and more enjoyable. As we also arrived earlier on the island, they still allowed us to check in earlier :) The villa itself is spacious, clean and offers a level of privacy that makes it feel like your own little sanctuary. One detail that really stood out was their RO water system and you’ll notice the difference immediately. It’s a small touch that makes a big impact. They also offer happy hour with cocktails, which adds to the relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere should you want to enjoy more time within the villa. Breakfast is delicious, with great options to choose from and the fresh juices were amazing. The peaceful, beautiful time we spent here, along with our stay in Gili Trawangan, is something we will never forget. We had a problem with our laundry and a few items were unfortunately damaged. However, the staff was incredibly kind. They took responsibility and compensated us for the ruined clothes. Their response made a big difference

The staff were absolutely fabulous and the decor was well done. Very clean and the service was stellar. Brekkie was lovely and delivered to the room/villa. The noise when sleeping - roosters and call to prayer woke us up early (even with a white noise maker). Private pool was only partially sun throughout the day; some floor boards inside and out were a bit creaky or needing repair. Far away from main areas (although bicycles were provided).

Majo Villas on Gili Trawangan is such a cozy and beautiful place. From the moment we arrived, Dani and the team were incredibly warm and welcoming. Even though we showed up a bit early, they happily took care of our luggage and invited us to relax by the poolside restaurant while our villa was getting ready. They even gave us a little map of the island with their favorite spots marked—that was really sweet and helpful! The villa itself is amazing—beautiful design with concrete, wood, and big glass windows. Everything feels stylish and thoughtfully put together. The outdoor shower was such a nice touch, and those copper sinks were just stunning. You can even get breakfast delivered right to your villa, or try the floating breakfast in the pool, which was not only delicious but also perfect for photos! Getting around the island was super easy with the free bicycles they provide. It’s such a nice way to explore and get to the beach. Honestly, it’s the perfect place for couples to relax and just enjoy the island vibe.

I am absolutely blown away by the hospitality Dani and team provided. They went above and beyond to ensure my partner's 40th birthday was so special. Dani even personally researched and messaged numerous restaurants in the area to get some quotes for a romantic birthday dinner. Room service is all done via WhatsApp and the (absolutely delicious) food and drink arrives very promptly. The bikes were super comfortable and the staff assist you with parking, locking and unlocking them when you arrive/leave like a little valet service :) the attention to detail here is world class. Well done Dani and well done team !!

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. It is a beautiful island and this place is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle by the beach. The staff could not have done more to help us and I am so glad we booked this. The journey to get there was an adventure on dirt roads but that made it all the more special when you arrived ?
