The service from the host was great and the facility was warm and welcoming.

Location was great Noisy generator, electricity was switched on only after 6am Stairway to my room felt unsafe ,especially at night Noise from the next door room The shower water temp was poor (cold)

The pedestal was hanging skew which was strange. Would be nice to have a small water bottle in the room during this hot season. Parking is a little bit tight

The internet was very poor and the DSTV sports where not working

Appreciated the upgrade. Location good and on site parking gives peace of mind to safety of vehicles. Nice sized room, clean and fresh. No water, nor milk in fridge. Also, the box of tissues in the bathroom was empty. Repairs were being done on arrival, which is understandable and accepted, but their mess was not cleaned up when they left.

No Aircon or fan in that heat

The facilities and the location of the guest house. It was very clean, the staff were not so customer friendly but they were good at the job the staff were not so customer friendly but they were good at the job.

all was well, room was comfortable, clean, bathroom, shower all clean, with clean towels and bed linen, convenient stores close by and the beach, just to windy to take a walk. but a lovely place to stay, and pet friendly. we just need a fan, in the room, other than that we were happy with our stay, would stay over again

The area and environment is so quiet and peaceful Water dripping in the shower making the carpet in the shower wet all the time. Please fix the shower tab.

Our experience at Beachway Guesthouse was very disappointing. The accommodation itself is basic and poor value. We were not provided with enough towels or toilet paper. There was no shampoo or conditioner in our rooms - only liquid soap in the shower. The toilet seat in my room was broken, and the coffee provided was low quality. Parking and internet were good, and the cleaning staff were friendly. The most serious concern however, was safety. On the morning of checkout, a member of our group went for a walk on the promenade directly outside the guesthouse. He was followed by individuals in a vehicle, attacked, and robbed on the guesthouse driveway. Staff members witnessed the incident but did not intervene or offer assistance. After the attack, my colleague was injured and in shock. I asked the guesthouse owner for directions to the nearest hospital but was directed to a pharmacy and then left to manage the situation on our own in an unfamiliar city. We drove to a nearby hospital where my colleague received medical treatment. Hospital staff indicated that violent incidents and robberies - gunshot and knife wound incidents - in the Summerstrand/promenade area is not uncommon. We were not warned about safety risks in the area or cautioned about walking outside. The guesthouse has no visible security measures or cameras and did not take responsibility for an incident that occurred on their premises. In contrast, a guesthouse owner across the street contacted the police after noticing the incident on security cameras and later shared relevant footage. Overall, this was a traumatic experience. I do not recommend Beachway Guesthouse and strongly caution travelers to consider safety carefully when staying in the Summerstrand area.

The property itself is extremely well positioned in a quiet residential area of Bloemfontein, with the added benefit of being adjacent to a nature reserve that offers accessible and enjoyable hiking trails. The environment is calm, secure, and ideal for business travellers who need reliability without noise or disruption. The rooms are generous in size, the beds are comfortable, and the facilities are entirely adequate for both short and extended stays. The entire property is clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for to a high standard. Reliable internet — fast, stable, and uninterrupted — was a particular benefit for work requirements. One of the strongest value points is that the guest house is genuinely pet-friendly. Some units even include enclosed private yards, a feature we found particularly attractive and uncommon at this level of accommodation. Additional amenities — including a well-kept pool, a functional braai area, and a relaxed bar — further enhance the guest experience. Parking is ample and conveniently located, which supports efficient arrivals and departures. Nothing.
