Spacious room with beautiful views, comfortable bed, kind staff, and delicious breakfast. Close walk to town and beaches.

The room was fantastic, complete with a nice size baalcony and also an indoor sitting area. We also had the breakfast which was delicious. I would have liked a few gluten free options as part of their bread and pastry assortment, but other than that it was very nice.

The room was extremely comfortable (quiet, good lighting, big bed). The bathroom facilities were nicely organized (shower separate from sink and toilet). Parking was free and easily accessible. The staff was friendly (even printed out a personalized letter to welcome us). We loved the location; 10 minutes walk to see the ocean. We also ate dinner at their award-winning restaurant. Unforgettable! The local church bell chimes the time. ?

Wonderful independent hotel with extremely friendly staff. Great location with parking, Room was lovely, quiet, comfortable bed super bathroom and lots of attention to detail. We had dinner at the hotel's Bistrot and the food was amazing would definitely recommend booking. The town is very quaint and hotel 15 minute walk to the beach. We had a very relaxing two night stay.

location Room very small. Bistro and bar closed, no other restaurants near by. The a la carte restaurant was ridiculously expensive. 85 or 125 euros for set menu. breakfast was limited

This hotel is in a great position for travelling from Spain. The restaurant is pricey, but fantastic food. staff are all very friendly. The hotel is also very dog friendly and a short walk from the beach.

Leaving! To be fair, the hotel was pleasant and spotlessly clean. The rooms were light, airy and stylish. The room was pleasantly warm. The night porter kindly found me an umbrella as I needed to walk our dog. We were travelling a long distance from the Algarve to Cherbourg and decided to stay here as it looked to be a lovely hotel with a Michelin starred restaurant. It was an anniversary and we thought we would make the stop into a special occasion. Surprise surprise, it was a Tuesday and the restaurant was shut! ("Welcome to France" I hear you say). Never mind and we asked the reception staff for a recommendation for a nice restaurant that we could walk to. Usually reception staff in a good hotel would pick up the phone and make a reservation for us. Not here. Armed with two recommendations we set off on foot down a long hill towards the beach passing several closed restaurants on the way. 1200 meters later we got to the beach and there was not one bar or restaurant in the place open! We managed to find a Spar shop to buy some food for the room. The time was 1645 hrs but even the Spar shop was shut. I was more than slightly tired and hacked off by this stage and went to speak with the reception staff and related our experience. I was told "Well it is January, what do you expect?" I pointed out that be that as it may be, people still have to eat!! I cancelled breakfast for the following day as I didn't wish to give anything more to this hotel than necessary. Back in November we were in the Dordogne and asked when a particular restaurant was going to open? April came the reply!! Again, to be fair to this hotel, this review really reflects our feelings about Guethary and, indeed, much of France at this time of the year. I've no doubt that our reviews, had we actually been able to buy so much as a sandwich, would have been five star but service does not appear to be the strong point of our neighbours.

Great location. Family run with swift efficiency. Seriously impressive restaurant and service adjoining the hotel.High standard but was a bit too formal for me, especially dining alone after a long journey. Will aim for lunch next time. The wine list and book, as impressive as it was belongs to a Harry Potter movie! I’m sure the cellar is impressive but my selection aided by a very “dynamic” female sommelier was really over structured as an accompaniment to the amazing food. Also expensive and you could easily spend more on a bottle than what you’re paying for the room! However I understand that they’re two separate businesses run by the same family. I was surprised that after I ordered my wine, I wasn’t asked if I liked it ( only the red) Sommeliers are usually very interested in feed-back. The young restaurant staff were all excellent but please let them relax a little more and encourage the odd smile!
