The staff were friendly and helpful, although their English was a bit limited. We were able to communicate using Google Translate when needed. The room was exactly as described. We were also able to ship our snowboard gear to the hotel ahead of time and it arrived safely. There was shared ski and snowboard storage, which was very convenient. The restaurant connected to the hotel was delicious, and the waiter kindly accommodated us even though we didn’t have a reservation. I would definitely stay here again. Honestly nothing major. Communication could sometimes take a little extra time due to the language barrier, but the staff were very helpful and did their best to assist us.

Aside from its central location, there is absolutely nothing positive about this hotel. The cleanliness of the room was extremely poor. There were cigarette butts left in our bin from previous guests, which was unacceptable. The towels were very thin and of poor quality, and the bedding and bed sheets were also very low quality and uncomfortable. There were visible stains on the carpet, and room cleaning service was provided only once during our entire 7‑night stay. The drying room was kept unheated, so gloves and boots did not dry at all. After two nights of frustration, we were advised to dry our boots inside our room instead, which defeats the purpose of having a drying room. I have attached a photo of the building, and from this alone it is clear that the hotel places little importance on maintenance and overall upkeep of both the property and its appearance. I genuinely regret staying at this hotel. For the price charged, there are far better options available. As this was my first time in Hakuba, I learned that many hotels offer shuttle services to the mountains, meaning there is no need to stay right in the centre.

The Onson was empty most days. It's location is central to most places in town. The Restaurant downstairs had great food. Loud tourists outside at night coming home late.

Great stay and really enjoyed it - would stay again next season Great staff

The host Alan and his mom Aunty Zhang were absolutely lovely and wonderful hosts. They made the entire experience feel like a stay with long lost relatives, and made everywhere feel as comfortable and familiar as home. I would definitely head back there whenever I am in Hakuba again, as they have made a family for us there. Definitely recommended, please go!

Great staff!!! Very helpful and very welcoming

I liked the location and the staff. Both were very lovely. The location is perfect for Hakuba, even if you don’t want to ski Happo. The shuttle terminal for the resorts is so close and convenient. There’s also a Lawson’s really near by. I would’ve liked to have more house keeping. Our beds were never made once. Our carpets were dirty before we even arrived. And we only had new towels once in two weeks. We even filled out the paper requesting the service and never got it. We gave up. For two buddies there to snowboard it wasn’t a big deal, but it’s something that needs attention.

Great onsen and location
-
Location is great food is good. The pillows are very soft.
-
The location is so convenient with just few minutes walk from bus station, Happo One snow resort, surrounded by eateries and konbini. The owner is so nice and tried their best to accommodate to your need. Just like the name, your meals comes with sweets! Comfortable room & bed to rest after long tiring day on the mountain. Great place to stay overall. Not a dislike but this hotel doesn't have elevator in case you are looking for one.
-
Quite small room for the price. Toilet inside the room doesn’t have bidet. Dinner take quite long time to serve.
-
Central to the Hakuba Happo One Village and the Happo One Bus Terminal is about 3 mins walk. Lots of skill resorts buses pass through this area. Lots of highly rated eateries around the hotel. Hotel is very homely and staff is friendly and helpful. We had half board during our stay and the food was delicious.
-
The food was good, the location is excellent for happo one and the bus terminal. Beds are hard and the pillow is thin. The room overall is good value for the price. Just bring your own travel pillow. Also, you'll be charged an onsen tax, it was about $2usd a day. Overall would stay again. The pillow and beds, but if you like a hard bed and are okay with a thin pillow or bring your own travel pillow you'll be just fine here. Also, neutral on the tub situation. It's small but fills up fast and you can sit in it and soak.

Everything! We booked 2 rooms with half board. one for us and one for our teenagers. From the minute we walked in, the staff were kind and accommodating. We could leave our luggage there and head off skiing and when we got there and after we checked out. we were given a welcome sweet/cake to have with our coffee when we got there. The breakfast was served at the table, simple but fulfilling. the dinner was absolutely amazing on both nights. different menu. 4-5course meals! the desserts were spectacular! The rooms were large. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Our room had a small ensuite. the kids room had a toilet. The Onsen was small but very relaxing after a day on the slopes. As we left… we were given a small bag each with three treats to take on our journey! I would definitely come back to this hotel if we come to Happo-one again! There was nothing I didn’t like. But a couple of things to consider if you want to book here. 1. There are steep steps to the rooms. So if you have knee issues, book a cheaper room that is on level 2. 2. The drying room is a room at the front of the hotel. There are no racks or hanging space. It does the job… but not like the drying rooms you expect. 3. It didn’t bother me… but the washlet seat did not get warm. 4. if you don’t like bean pillows… take your own.

Other people may get disappointed with the drying room, the washlet “not working”, and the steep stairs. Level 2 rooms more easily accessible.

Breakfast and Dinner were great (we did half-board). Easy access to ski lifts. Staff were very kind and helpful. Bathroom facilities were a bit dated.
