Hotel Goryukan

staff was accommodating and friendly. hotel was overall comfortable, clean and aesthetically pleasing. location was great. design in the rooms / bathrooms was a bit dated.

onsen was great after a days skiing, beds comfy, bar was nice, breakfast was great, great location close to ski lift and bus stop i had my ski boots taking from the drying room meaning i had to go back to rhythmn sports to get another pair to ski for the day.

The daily breakfast was tasty and very convenient before our ski day. Our corner room with big windows and a view of the mountains was lovely to wake up to. The Onsen was spotless and well appointment. Maybe the best sauna I've ever used. The post-ski water bar was fun to visit everyday along with the onsen. Location to the village and ski lift was easily walkable.

Location was great, walking distance to Happo-one mountain. Onsen was great with sauna, indoor and outdoor facilities. Bath a little bit dated but it’s a historic hotel so it’s charming. Didn’t really make a difference since we showered in the Osen every day. Front desk was closed between 10am-2pm. No one available to call a cab, answer questions, etc

This was our second stay at Hotel Goyrukan. For skiing, the location is great as it's only a 5 min walk to the lifts. It's also a short walk to many restaurants, the bus station, and the Lawson convenience store. The hotel has had some upgrades, including new beds, which were very comfy. The onsen is excellent and is a true highlight. Breakfast is good. The hotel is kept very clean. The staff are great, kind and helpful. The only knock is a lack of flexibility on some small things that make for some annoyances. We booked a reserved bus that picked up at the Snowpeak Landstation and were told that it was impossible to use the hotel shuttle, even though this bus stop is on the way to their designated stops. Breakfast ends at 9:00 sharp and is quickly cleared off. The restaurant stops serving dinner at 7:30. If you arrive outside these times, you are out of luck! The cost of accommodation in Hakuba is getting ridiculous. These issues are not deal breakers, but were a little frustrating and annoying.

Buffet breakfast was more than we expected. Lots of options. Onsen was incredible after a day on the slopes. The owner was very hospitable and generous.

We had a lovely stay here. We had twin rooms on the 4th floor that had great views of the mountain and were very large. The outdoor and indoor onset are great and a fabulous way to end a day of skiing. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of things. Some of the breakfast items weren’t very tasty.

The check in was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful. The room had an epic view. The onsen, cold plunge and sauna were worth it alone! Really close to the slopes and easy to get around town by walking. No cons. Was really an awesome experience

The hotel didn't have a ramp for pushing luggage up and down the drop-off point in front of the check-in counter, and there was no one to help carry the bags. In my opinion, for this price, the service should have been better.

We like the location as it offered a fantastic view of the mountains unlike other accommodations located in the town. It was walkable to the town and a couple of the ski runs. The rooms were bigger than expected and comfortable and the onsen was very nice. Can’t find any shortcomings. Dinner could be improved. The onsen hours could be extended in the morning to at least 11:00 am for the non skiers to enjoy

Onsen facility was wonderful It looks like this property has had no maintenance since the 98 Olympics. Peeling wallpaper, floor tiles lifting, the beds were lumpy - awful. Couldnt rest.
