Room was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. They upgraded one of our room and was very attentive to our request. The hotel was close to beach activities which ran until past mid night, and therefore could be noisy for families who preferred quiet stay.

Ate at the restaurant one evening, and the service was very slow; the food was underwhelming. A lot of construction and noise about the hotel, but it was okay for a one night stay before our cruise. It was not walkable to any restaurants or markets. I would stay closer to walkable locations.

The location is walkable to Sun World or just a short inexpensive ride with Grab. The swimming pool is nice and well maintained. The view from the room is beautiful and stunning. There is a lively park right across the hotel that is enjoyable both during the day and at night. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a standard quality hotel that feels comfortable. Not many dinner options nearby with English speaking staff. No supermarket or minimart in the area only small local shops with limited choices. It is a good idea to stay aware of your surroundings when exploring the area.

I was very disappointed with my stay. Given Novotel’s well-known reputation, I expected a much higher standard. For the amount I paid—3.8 million VND—it felt more like a nightmare than a relaxing stay. The amenities were far below expectations: the duty area was poorly maintained, and the shampoo and shower gel quality was substandard. There was also no floor mat provided, which added to the discomfort. For this price point, I expected much better service and facilities. I will not return to this hotel, and I cannot recommend it to others. It was a truly disappointing experience from a brand I thought I could trust. There are also a lot more issues with this hotel. I will review them and send them to the main management of this hotel. Also, I do not feel safe in the room that connects to another person.

Close to beach. Decent breakfast. Loud music from concerts nearby on a weekday. Lots of children running around and playing in the pool.

The pool was nice, buffet pretty worth it. Went in late May, had a lot of value for the money ! Staff was exceptional.

I was allocated a room top end of building which recieved full impact from the nightly rave bar opposite. There was no balcony furniture wot so ever so no real point having a balcony. The shower was mouldy so room wasn't upto expectations. Hotel itself was dead quiet I saw 2 people in pool throughout my stay + what I believed was to be a lovely beach was very disappointing indeed...what lurked at the waters edge is nobodies business yuk yuk. Fact is, Halong is a ghost town. My mistake for choosing to go there without looking into it further. Booked a luxury boat cruise out of there which thank christ was fabulous but I advise everyone to steer clear of this place + just get a day boat cruise to visit the lovely waters, lime cliffs n caves etc. There's really nothing inland worth seeing ???

Our time at Novotel Ha Long Bay was nothing short of sensational. We felt very welcome and had a fabulous time. In particular one staff member went above and beyond with service and friendship. Thank you Thúy you are amazing.

The staff Un clean. I had a half used bottle of shower gel in my room. The plug sockets were all loose and extremely dangerous, my hair dryer started sizzling at the plug where it kept falling out of the plug. It wasn’t the most clean either.
