The location is excellent—just a few steps from the hotel, you’ll find great shopping as well as Michelin-recommended pho and bánh mì restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel’s recommendations for dining and shopping were spot on, making it easy to enjoy the best of the area.

Well located and a spacious comfortable room. Staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was a bit limited particularly around the bread/pastry area.

The hotel is truly wonderful overall: amenities are great, rooms are immaculate, and above all, the team here is incredibly warm and welcoming. A special thank you to Sophie, who went above and beyond to look after us throughout our stay. What’s more, it’s very traveler-friendly even if you don’t speak Vietnamese. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a clean, comfortable stay with outstanding service—and I would not hesitate to come back again! Nil

The staff were amazing. I have never felt more welcome at any hotel I have ever stayed in. From getting set up with tours, to the restaurant staff making sure our meals were covered, to getting laundry done. This hotel gets my highest rating. We were treated like royalty. Well done by all. I didn’t like the fact that my time was up and I had to come home. Loved everything about the LION.

It is clean. The staff was very helpful. Especially Sophie, she helped for everything, she helped us about organizing Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh tours also. She is great!!

Hanoi Lion is in a central location in Old Town. It's a traditional hotel with full time staff and it's quiet. It's very close to a lot of cafes and restaurants. The room was very big. Good breakfast. Excellent staff -- they were truly helpful and friendly. This hotel is getting quite run down and, as a result, doesn't feel clean everywhere. We paid a lot for a large room that was not very good value and was quite dark because of the paint and heavy dark furniture.

This small hotel has lots of character. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is vibrant and easily accessible to Hoan Kiem Lake and major museums and sights. Rooftop breakfast offers plenty. Super accommodating staff. Luggage storage and use of lobby for waiting out the day for overnight trains or late night flights. Be aware of traveling in Vietnam cities during the Lunar New Year. Throngs of people can be overwhelming.

This is one of the better hotel experiences I've had. Even before check-in they reached out to me with a message and told me I could check-in early. When I arrived the staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful - and my room was a solid upgrade from the other places I've stayed in Hanoi. I tried the spa facilities and massage too - which included sauna and a beer bath and ended with a dinner. I also really enjoyed having a bathtub in my room. Whenever I had questions they went above and beyond to help - and even after I checked out they told me I could come back for a shower or use the facilities if I wanted. Overall, this is a gem I'd love to come back to! If I had to mention something, I'd love to see more local options on their menu (but at the same time I'm guessing they mainly cater older foreigners which I'm sure love a more Western influenced style). It was delicious nevertheless, so this is not really a complaint at all.

This was one of the first hotels I booked ahead of our trip. It was best of the 3 we stayed in in Hanoi. We opted for a room with internal window, it was smart, large, clean, fresh and comfortable. The staff were all very courteous and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely return here.
