Aurora Central Hotel

For an deluxe room, the decor was surprisingly bland and lacked any sense of luxury or character.

Spacious clean room. Unfortunately, our stay in this hotel in Hanoi was not a pleasant one. When we arrived, the weather was cold and we quickly realized that the air conditioner did not have a heating function. The room was extremely cold and the thermal insulation was very poor. You could literally feel the cold air coming in near the windows. This made the room uncomfortable throughout our stay. The biggest issue, however, was the staff’s communication and lack of responsibility. The first time we reported the heating problem, we were told it was not working in the hotel but would be fixed that same day. It wasn’t. The second time, we were told they would raise the issue with a colleague. They didn’t. The third time, we were told that the air conditioner simply does not have heating functionality. These contradictory responses clearly show poor internal communication and no sense of urgency to solve guest problems. At breakfast, a staff member asked how our stay was going. When we mentioned the heating issue, she claimed she wasn’t aware of it and apologized. Shortly after, she approached another table where guests raised the exact same heating complaint and again acted as if she had never heard about it before. This felt very unprofessional and insincere. Additionally, the breakfast itself was average at best. Overall, the lack of proper communication, accountability and genuine concern for guest comfort made this stay disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel unless these issues are seriously addressed.

the reception staff were really nice and helpful, the family room we booked was very spacious and clean. the hotel was in a good location the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking water overnight and got worse by morning. not sure it it was from bathroom on floor above or due to the heavy rain. we booked in at the spa, the experience was not great. the staff were disorganised and unprofessional. they changed the treatment right before it started, talked the whole way through and just generally didn't seem like they had a plan for the treatment. i felt uneasy and tense the whole time. when we advised the reception staff at check out about the experience they were kind enough to give us an additional discount.

Very good breakfast selection, beautiful rooms. Friendly staff. Outside noise was able to be heard in the rooms. Especially on lower floors, building work starting at 5am could be heard.

It is right in the centre of it all, walking distance from good restaurants, markets and cool spots like beer street and train street. It also was a short Grab ride away from a bunch of museums!

The staff was over the top friendly and professional. Very helpful in arranging transportation and dinner recommendations. A great breakfast buffet as well. Nothing not to like!

Supremely friendly and hospitable staff - from the start you are welcomed with tea and light snacks. Gorgeous room and bathroom! Breakfast was nice with a wide variety and made to order items. Location was perfect for us. I liked being in the north part of Old Quarter. I really can't recommend the property enough and certainly would look here first if returning to Hanoi. Thank you everyone, especially Sophia and Junior, but really everyone from bellmen to breakfast staff for a wonderful stay. I feel this is an excellent value! N/A

Good staff and rooms

Friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room. The location is on the fringe of the Old Quarter yet very convenient to walk to all the relevant sights and eateries. The massage by the in-house spa was very good; the therapist was skillful. Breakfast choices were plentiful and there was also a separate menu for additional items. When the hotel was sharing information about tours after booking, the staff made a strange comment "you ask the price just to compare?" when I inquire about the prices of the tours they were promoting although I had already prebooked some tours separately. Maybe it is just language or cultural difference, but it did gave me a weird vibe.
